STT was introduced long back when P chidambaram was there, and the reasons were valid and logical, but now STT increase is not justified.
STT needs to be adjusted with STCG/LTCG

I meant to say STT plus STCG. And when brokers have glitches, SEBI only fines them but never compensates the traders — well, almost never. So much money comes in from STT and other taxes, yet the infrastructure is still not up to the mark. From time to time, even exchanges have major glitches and data disconnections

STT plys STCG. both at the same time. No accountability of broker glitches.
