I think you must have missed the part in my post where I talk about companies where the public shares have zero voting leverage, even if you owned 100% of them?
Even if you owned 100% of the public common stock of SNAP, META, or HSY, you wouldn't be able exercise an ounce of control over the company. There are lots of companies like this.
So the value must come from dividends you can get from being a shareholder

Interesting. I don't know what fcf projections are supposed to be for 2026, so just talking your statement as fact. But HSY trading at over 18x 2025 fcf from what I am seeing (2021-2025 fcf all appear to be in the same range).. unless my data source is incorrect or something, perhaps it's bc 2026 is expected to be an anomaly?

Not really enthuastic about any of those. AMZN a light yes, although Bezos will probably dump more sooner than later. WMT was overly expensive vs history, still not reasonable. ASTS perhaps worth a mild allocation in the $50's. I don't want NFLX, I'd rather TTWO. HSY no - there's stuff in CPG that has a decent stable of brands (CPG) but they keep getting obliterated by the fact that most of these names aren't well run and they continue to face a series of other issues (consumer stress, shitty/mediocre management, lack of innovation, GLP-1, etc.)

Out of that list, an unenthusiastic yes to AMZN although Bezos will probably sell more soon. Maybe the GOOG convertible pfd (GOOGM). ASTS slight in the mid 50's. WMT was way expensive vs history still not reasonable. Not really interested in cpg names like HSY although probably should be given that so many of them have been obliterated. The problem I have is that most of them are poorly run, among other problems. CPB actually has an okay stable of brands, but the company isn't well run and FY27 not looking great (Net sales decline of 2% to 4%1
, adjusted EBIT decline of 7% to 12%,) Any tunaround and the stock could take off (25% short interest), but something good has to happen and they've struggled to accomplish that.

As I mentioned in the post, there are many companies (BRK, META, SNAP, HSY) where this isn't possible no matter how much public stock you acquire.
