I had GPT’s Astra model spend about 3 days doing a deep research project on biotech stocks.
I had it look at researcher and academic interest in forums and whatnot, investor and institutional interest, FDA and regulatory progress, clinical trial stages, estimated approval probabilities, market size, prior commercialization success, cash reserves, balance-sheet strength, expected cash burn, financial runway to the next major clinical or regulatory milestone, and the potential upside if the key drugs succeed.
I started with 24 tickers that showed potential for growth.
* **IMCR | Immunocore — 25%**
* **BNTX | BioNTech — 20%**
* **ARVN | Arvinas — 15%**
* **HCM | HUTCHMED — 15%**
* **CRSP | CRISPR Therapeutics — 15%**
* **LEGN | Legend Biotech — 5%**
* **NTLA | Intellia Therapeutics — 5%**
So essentially, the 24 were narrowed down to these 7, with fairly heavy concentration in the top five positions in the hypothetical I had only 100k to invest.
I also ran the research and investment logic through Claude as a second check, and it largely confirmed the analysis and conclusions.
I’d be interested in getting some human eyes on this, especially from people who follow biotech closely.
**What do you think of the portfolio construction and weighting? Is the underlying logic sound, or are there risks / assumptions the AI analysis may be overlooking?**
Not looking for blind validation — I’m particularly interested in the bear case for these picks and whether the concentration makes sense.
The following got no place in the investment report:
ABCL | AbCellera 0%
ANNX | Annexon 0%
BEAM | Beam 0%
SDGR | Schrodinger 0%
BCYC | Bicycle 0%
ORIC | ORIC 0%
DNLI | Denali 0%
BCAX | Bicara 0%
GENB | Generate 0%
RGNX | REGENXBIO 0%
PRTA | Prothena 0%
RXRX | Recursion 0%
NKTX | Nkarta 0%
CRBU | Caribou 0%
EDIT | Editas Medicine 0%
ALEC | Alector 0%
ALXO | ALX Oncology 0%
