I started a position in $VALE as it exited its bottom so I might have some success bias but they're poised to keep generating strong revenue from established mines both in South America & Canada.  Pays a nice dividend too

Hey everyone! Here is the list of stock ideas for this week from my Cyclical Barbell strategy.
|Company|Why Picked|Entry Target|Exit (Profit)|**Stop Loss**|Event to Watch|Expected Impact|
|:-|:-|:-|:-|:-|:-|:-|
||
|**Vale S.A.** NYSE:VALE|Massive mining assets.|$17.10|$18.50|**$16.45**|China construction slows.|**Drop:** Less steel demand.|
|**Ryder System** NYSE:R|Market lead & NAV growth.|$215.00|$230.00|**$208.50**|Diesel prices spike.|**Drop:** High fuel eats profit.|
|**Hewlett Packard** NYSE:HPE|$75B stable asset base.|$23.80|$26.20|**$22.90**|Hormuz blockade.|**Drop:** Tech supply chain stall.|
|**Accenture** NYSE:ACN|11% high profit margins.|$185.00|$205.00|**$176.00**|Global trade war news.|**Drop:** Consulting slows down.|
|**USA Compression** NYSE:USAC|Price momentum.|$26.40|$28.50|**$25.20**|Less gas drilling.|**Drop:** Idle equipment.|
|**Myers Industries** NYSE:MYE|Specialized asset growth.|$21.50|$24.00|**$20.10**|Spending on RVs stops.|**Drop:** Leisure sales tank.|
# Summary of Risks
**Global Conflict:** Stocks like HPE and Ryder are very sensitive to oil prices and shipping routes (like the Strait of Hormuz). If a route closes, their costs go up, and stock prices usually go down.
**China Demand:** Vale is the most dependent on China's economy. If you see news that China's real estate market is struggling, Vale will likely drop soon after.
**Interest Rates:** High rates make it expensive for companies like Ryder and USAC to manage their high debt, which can trigger a "dropdown" in price even if the business is doing well.
Let me know if you have any questions :)
P.S. This is not an investment advice. Just use the information above as a food for thoughts.

there’s always somewhere to invest but that doesn’t mean people will want to buy what’s cheap. Right now, I think Iron ore and steel companies are where oil and gas was in November and where silver and gold stocks were last april. But nobody is on here shilling CLF, VALE, or smaller steel/iron ore/met coal companies. That is where the value is. Just buy cheap and hold for five years and the cycle will come to you.

I laughed at this list. Some of my best returns in the last year-ish have been in your "uninvestable" list.
Airlines... $JBLU swing $3.85 to $5.50
Commodities... $DOW swing $23 to $41
Mines... $VALE $8.50-$9.50 still holding for the sweet div and the price will keep appreciating, $UAMY $0.38! sold half @ $15, rebought in the $4s
IPOs... $RDDT $41-45 (REDDIT! the thing you're on) still holding
Unethical management, SMCI... Swung this twice. Worse the news, more I like the stock since they're still producing products other companies need.
I look wherever the opportunity is best.
