Real estate bubbles don't work like this. Real estate slightly deflates from all time high and then waits there for years until inflation catches up. So a 4 Cr property will stay 4 CR, but in 5-10 yrs 4 CR will not be a lot of money. A lot more people who can't afford today will be able to, and that is when it jumps again to 8-10 Cr.

Hey Fellas,
Been digging into the RBI’s plan to introduce polymer (plastic) banknotes, especially for the ₹10 and ₹20 denominations. From what I’ve read, they’ve already shortlisted a few companies for supplying the polymer substrate, and there are some interesting Indian names in the mix.
Just sharing my thoughts based on my own research – not financial advice, DYOR as always.
**Key idea:**
If India starts shifting to polymer notes, demand for specialty polymer films (BOPP/BOPET) with security features could pick up over time. That could be a nice tailwind for a small set of companies.
Indian names I’m watching:
**Cosmo First (COSMOFIRST**)
• Actually bid for the RBI polymer substrate tender, with De La Rue as technical partner.
• Makes BOPP and specialty films; already a big exporter.
• This is the most direct “polymer currency” story in India, but it’s still pre-award, so there’s event risk.
**Jindal Poly Films (JINDALPOLY)**
• Large maker of BOPP and BOPET films.
• Not confirmed as a currency supplier, but has the right material base.
• More of a thematic play if localization of such films increases.
**Uflex (UFLEX**)
• Flexible packaging films + anti-counterfeit/holography business.
• Again, no clear confirmation on banknote substrate, but the tech overlap is there.
Outside India, the big global players in polymer banknote substrate are companies like CCL Industries (CCL.B.TO / CLLBY) and Crane Co (CR), but I’m focusing on Indian stocks for now.
Again, this is just my thinking based on what I’ve read about the RBI’s polymer note plans and the companies involved. Could be a multi-year theme if the rollout scales up, but there are no guarantees.
Would love to hear if anyone else is tracking these or sees something I’m missing.
