Mixed feelings on the restriction here, but I do think you should think about what IKBR is saying here.
MLGO is a low-cap company in China that has historically undergone extreme dilution + reverse stock splits. That screams of a pump-and-dump sort of structure that can be used to extract money directly out of brokerage accounts (rather than having to exchange to crypto, etc).
There's a very good chance that, if you buy MLGO, the proceeds from the sale are going to insiders who are literally planning to deflate the value of your holdings to nothing. In short, allowing you to buy MLGO is (in IKBR's perspective) nearly equivalent to allowing you to transfer your entire holdings via cryptocurrency to an unknown party.
Should you be allowed to buy? Yes. Is IKBR reasonable to ban trading in a questionable security like this when there are active attacks on some clients, and no way to easily determine what a client is thinking when placing the trade? I'd say yes as well.
