So I was scrolling through some market data today (Wed Sept 16) and noticed something kinda wild. There's overlap between what politicians are buying, what big institutions are loading up on, and where insider buying is heaviest. Sharing in case anyone wants to dig deeper or has thoughts.
**Most Congressional buying (last 180 days):**
1. BRK.B - 15 buys
2. AMD - 13 buys
3. MSFT - 10 buys
4. PLTR - 10 buys
5. ACN - 10 buys
6. CHTR - 10 buys
7. AMZN - 9 buys
8. IBM - 8 buys
BRK.B is apparently "today's top mover" with the most congressional buys, which is funny because it's Berkshire lol, not exactly a hidden gem. But 15 buys in 180 days from politicians is still a lot of coincidences.
**Most Institutional buying (net $ inflow):**
1. OPI - +$306.49M
2. VIST - +$137.29M
3. UPRO - +$63.18M
4. VNET - +$57.75M
5. VOO - +$46.58M
6. XOM - +$42.03M
7. UMAY - +$32.87M
8. UMAR - +$30.53M
OPI getting over $300M in institutional buying stands out hard compared to everything else on this list.
**Most Insider buying:**
1. SAFX - +$17.23M
2. CELH - +$1.49M
3. CRT - +$1.41M
4. ONMD - +$1.21M
5. VENU - +$909.6K
6. RWT - +$676.7K
7. MAIA - +$352.3K
8. GLOO - +$72.2K
SAFX insider buying is on a totally different scale than everything else here. +$17M vs the next one at $1.49M.
None of these three lists really overlap with each other except BRK.B showing up on top for politicians. Curious what you all think, is this actual signal or just noise/coincidence? Anyone holding any of these or watching them closer because of this?
Not financial advice, just found the data interesting.
P.S got this data from an App called **AMSON: Trading Signals**
