A good rule to have, even if you looking to speculate, is to not buy the stocks of unprofitable, money losing companies. Both RGTI and ASTS are the stocks of unprofitable, money losing companies. Put them on a watchlist but don't invest in or even speculate with them. Check on them after each quarterly earnings report. Wait until they have been profitable for at least 4 consecutive quarters (if that ever happens) before buying them. If you wait until they are profitable you are still getting in early with lots of upside, and you reduce the chance of being a bag holder.

I recently just got my first job as a server. I make about $600-$500 every 2 weeks.
I traded for a little while so my risk tolerance is a high. I'm willing to take short-term losses if in the end it goes up.
Looking for what to invest in My Roth IRA, like what index funds or other stuff with percentages (Tickers Please)
I'm also thinking about having a portfolio separate from my Roth that has a mix of speculative stocks (RGTI, ASTS), big sector names (TSLA, NVDA), and index funds. I'm wondering if this is a good idea? For the speculative stocks it'll only be maybe 5-10% of the overall portfolio.
What Percentage should I take from my paycheck? What percentage of that paycheck should go in to my Roth and other Portfolio? What should I invest in my Roth IRA? What should I invest in my Portfolio? Open to any opinion because I'm fairly new to long-term investing.
