-It appears that James Byun brings a much broader experience in **industrial automation, security & defense, and automotive markets.**
-He likely sees greater growth opportunities at MicroVision than at AEVA.
-And as I’ve posted previously, the CEO and CFO at AEVA are both selling AEVA shares on a pre-scheduled, SEC approved formula, though IMO, it doesn’t show confidence in the longer term outlook of AEVA’s performance.
Maybe James Byun took the hint from the AEVA CEO and CFO.
Maybe James Byun was on the original Cowen list of 10 possible candidates, and the timing wasn’t right for James Byun. We’ll likely never know.

AEVA’s future is so promising that James Byun left AEVA to join MVIS.

Have you considered that he may be inclined to leave AEVA so that he can actually cash out on his (most likely) huge set of AEVA PRSUs without getting resentment from the company for insider selling?
His main motivation might have been to be able to cash out on AEVA.
That being said, he could go anywhere else and yet chose MVIS, so perhaps he saw something that made him think he could repeat himself and also be successful at MVIS with that - so that’s a positive.

MVIS is undervalued only if the Luminar/Ibeo/Scantinel assets convert into real revenue within the next 12–24 months. Without that, it is just a low-priced, highly diluted, cash-burning lidar company with better assets than the market currently trusts.
Glen can talk about $500M opportunity all he wants, after Sharma nobody trusts what anyone says at this company. The difference to AEVA is that they have big names officially associated with them and that growth is priced in.
