I get the point that is attempted to be driven with the comparison. I guess though, my concern for lack of a better term are fees being settled in assets that aren’t XLM. That combined with the very low fees, which I also get is a selling point for the service, makes me wonder…

Corporate Maps Still File XRP & XLM As ‘Special’ Banking

Looks like this nice post was made about 5 years ago. I'm wondering if this still works with XLM to earn interest? A few years ago I was really into XLM and had been periodically buying some whenever I could find it cheap and now I've got quite a bit of it and would like to lend it out for some interest. Anyways, does this still work or is there any better rates out there? Also anyone who had started lending 5 years now how did your profits do? Did you compound it or did you settle it into a separate wallet how did you do? Thanks

So am I to understand that when it comes down Stellar, holding $XLM doesn’t do a thing for holders looking for token value because transaction fees are so minute and other assets are being utilized as well? Am I understanding that correctly?

Patience is so important when investing in crypto and really anything.
Not a crypto but I invested in BlackBerry almost 2 years ago when it was $5 CAD. I bought up to 100 shares. It hovered around that for 7 months. Then I Sold 25 when it went to $7 a share. It dropped a back to $5 a couple months later and I thought to myself “I’ll just wait until the next earnings report”. Well it didn’t go up. It kept going down or hovering around $5. Eventually it dropped under $5 and eventually I bought a little bit more to go back to 100 shares. But it seemed more likely that it was going to fall under $4. But then a few weeks later it went to $6.60 and I sold quite a fair bit. And overall I made $400, but then after that it just jumped over $10. When it went to $17 I sold all but 10 shares. I keep those 10 shares in the event they make massive jumps.
The point I’m trying to make is I didn’t make money off of it by day trading. I made money through patience.
The same can be said about XLM.

Is the Stellar Development Foundation losing money? It seems fairly solvent and growing. You seem to be confusing the price of XLM with the fiscal well-being of the organization.
People get salty about investing in a utility.. it's like buying Waterworks and the Electric company in Monopoly and being mad you don't get $3500 every time someone lands on them.

Get rich quick? XLM is over a decade old, and some of us have been in the ecosystem for just as long. The days of the boom/bust are over, and this “infrastructure” has done nothing but depreciated. Some utilities do make money, just look at anything responsible power supplier/generators, electricity, gas, trash pick up services, phone/internet. Heck, even water has to stay solvent and not lose money.
Sorry that your prediction of depreciation is going right along schedule, but an ROI is expected in just about every other industry and if it doesn’t deliver, that industry will die.
Serious “hive mind” brain rot

You dont need to do a lot of research it's simple. Bet on compliance and institutional readiness. Its a long road because institutions move at a snails pace. ETH, ARB, XRP, XLM, HBAR, QUANT, ALGORAND, SOL, AVAX... Where ever you see the biggest corporations and institutional partnerships putting their weight is where the train is headed. Much the the chagrin of Reddit you dont need to understand the tech, just follow the money and the ones actively working to be compliant. It will take a few years.
