You think BTC retracement stops at 82-83k? And I’m not telling you to actively trade. For me, a move from 60-ish to 86k is more than enough to take profit and wait for a retrace. That’s all I want to say

I'm out for now on BTC dropping below my mental stop at $83k
But for a bit of perspective, a 10+% pullback is not uncommon in a crypto bull market.
This "dump" is low to normal volume and the summer's lows are behind and below us.
Doomers can get a pass if volume picks up and we keep going down but that's not where we are today

I won't cause I was about to break-even with some altcoins haha. But it will be great to load up some BTC!

Except that the electricity used to mine BTC is also what makes it safe.
POW & hash rate have purpose for a reason when it comes to BTC.

A blockchain is market infrastructure. I thin there is going to be one, as historically that is how things have run.
Market infra allows you to make currencies, and yes, AI Bots will be making their own currencies and equities, and to do that, they will need BTC.

New AI models could break BTC and ETH cryptography within the next few months. Instantly crashing the entire crypto market

People always say BTC sucks until it doesn’t. If you’re looking to trade it, god help you. If your plan is long term just continue to HODL.

I'm in the US and last time I checked you couldn't withdraw BTC. Did that change or was I wrong? Since then I've completely moved away from Venmo credit card because of this.

🌍 Macro
Rising rates and renewed Middle East tensions are putting pressure on risk assets, with Iran increasing attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz and oil prices moving above $101. U.S. Treasury yields reached their highest levels since 2002, while the Fed’s September minutes remained hawkish, with most officials seeing room for another hike this year. U.S. equities pulled back, ending the Nasdaq’s five-day winning streak, while BTC fell from around $85K to $82K before stabilizing near $83K.
⸻
📈 Market Snapshot
• BTC: $83,321.6 (-2.62%)
• ETH: $2,574.25 (-4.57%)
• NASDAQ: 27,538.69 (-0.22%)
• S&P 500: 7,801.77 (-0.22%)
• F&G: 64 (previous: 71)
⸻
🧠 Market Take
BTC remains under short-term pressure after failing to hold the $85K area and dropping to around $82K. The technical rebound stalled near $84.3K, leaving $82K as the key support and $84.3K–$84.5K as the first resistance zone.
Long-term Treasury yields remain the main macro headwind, with both 10Y and 30Y yields reaching their highest levels since 2002. U.S. one-year inflation expectations also climbed to 3.9%, reinforcing concerns that elevated rates could persist and reducing the relative appeal of risk assets.
The Fed’s September minutes were hawkish, with most officials considering another hike appropriate before year-end, although market pricing for an October hike has fallen below 20%. The combination of easing near-term hike expectations and rising inflation and energy risks leaves BTC highly sensitive to upcoming inflation data.
Key levels:
* Resistance: $84.3K–$84.5K / $85K
* Support: $82K
* Trend: Weak / range-bound
Holding $82K would help preserve the current recovery structure, while a break below it could trigger another leg lower.
⸻
🔥 Hot Tokens
* SUI: \~-2% after its offline-tunnel test exceeded 40M TPS and Samsung Wallet integration boosted attention.
* NEAR: +5%+ as Quantus launched QTC trading through NEAR Intents.

⚡ Quick Take
BTC is hovering around $83K as rising long-term yields, higher inflation expectations and renewed energy risks keep risk appetite under pressure. **$82K is the key line to hold**, while reclaiming $84.3K–$84.5K would be the first signal that the short-term recovery is regaining momentum.

1st, there has to be another alt coin season. Just has to happen, won't do it on its own. 3$ can happen on that alone. Other alt coins won't get you 10x even if that happens and that's the point of your original post, no special catalyst,just actual 10x price movement.
If actual funds adapt the narrative of earning yield on the held BTC. STX is the best vehicle for that, there is competition,but STX is the original. That's the $3+ story

Yes this. There’s just no good reason for BTC anymore. The world has just moved on. It might have some last hurrays yet to go, but the serious gains are in the past.

sure, it doesn’t make it any less of a gamble.
but money isn’t supposed to produce cash flow. Bitcoin’s value stems from scarcity and holding purchasing power over time, not from yield.
we’re not disagreeing about the same thing here. i’m saying Bitcoin is **money**, while you’re judging it as an **investment**. the real disagreement underneath is whether Bitcoin actually *functions* as money yet.
comparing BTC to AMD is like complaining that your savings account didn't beat the stock market.

Let me laugh.. if you maybe start by getting your % right.. start with that. Down to the max he's been is 55%... right now from top is 35%.. really not that bad.. compare to previous Bear market.. which reminds me I'm still ready for some extra juicy cash rebate on my BTC!! But yeah.. still , accumulating because of signal.. wish It would have crashed even more..
What is to remember see the investment long term, you ain't here to sell never. You can borrow against your BTC like the real Rich's does with their gold.. but never sell. For what? Pay capital gains taxs after 😂🤣 won't happen.
If you see tech's stocks up and you see something under-evaluated? Imagine you have a bunch of tech stocks over evaluated.. super bubbly 😉 don't you think it's time to diversify into something under evaluated? A proven edge like gold? Or digital gold in that case since it's the one under-evaluated 🤷 you do you.
Big money will be going were it's evident that money will be made. And safe. Too. Yes more volatile. But they ain't seeing things short terms anyway 💯

If you get into crypto, make sure not to stray away from BTC or ETH. But really, the best bet is to start investing in ETFs. You likely don't need money and starting this early will make you become a millionaire a decade before most people

It's just a matter of time... BTC will hit 92k this month and to max of 95k. max low of 79 to 80k. It needs another black swan event type of shi to drop way below 70k

Thank you. A few follow ups if you please.
* Can you have two wallets A and B. A never interacts with anything except Wallet B. So Wallet A is like your savings account where you put all your crypto. And when you need to use it IRL then you transfer a bit to wallet B, like it's your checking account.
* When you say do NOT sign for anything do you mean forever or just until quantum proof solutions are created? I assume the latter but just want to make sure.
* How do you think this will affect Eth price and adoption? On one hand calling for Bunker mode sounds bad, on the other hand will this accelerate Eth flipping BTC? How come tradfi isn't panicked about their systems? Should they be?
* Would SBET and BMNR be affected by this or are their systems way more secure?

just curious if anyone has ever been able to recover or get into one of the old wallet.dat files from btc core. don’t have high hopes of getting it back, but would love to pursue if it’s possible. with the help of ai, this is what I can provide for clarity. like many cases I cannot for the life of me figure out what the password is. it’s from a very long time ago. obviously dms will be ignored. I see that btcrecover is a good tool to try, any advice?

And it would only have been up 15% for the 5 year period if we’d checked 2 months ago. You can cherry pick all kinds of data points but BTC looks pretty bad for most of them given its massive risk. You can just throw money into the stock market and consistently earn over time while BTC requires getting super lucky with timing.
