I started accumulating PPTA when it was called Midas Gold. I really focused on it when John Paulson got involved. The stock made me a millionaire all by itself.
The speculation is NAK. It owns the Pebble mine in Alaska, which is the largest deposit of copper, gold and rhenium in the entire world. It has sat undeveloped for 20 years, tangled in regulatory disputes that are in the process of being resolved. While it has already doubled my investment, the upside is ASTOUNDING.
I trade leveraged ETFs in pairs. Silver (AGQ/ZSL). Gold miners (NUGT/DUST). Russell (TNA/TZA). NQ (TQQQ/SQQQ). NG (BOIL/KOLD). Most of the money I was able to put into PPTA and NAK came from my leveraged ETF trading - I made a lot of money in AGQ, for example.
The lessons I learened are to find your interests, strengths and weaknesses, explore your curiosities, exploit the opportunities you encounter, be flexible/adaptable, and drill down HARD when you strike paydirt. I consider myself a mediocre trader and a marginal investor who took care of my retirement as a separate issue and relentlessly pursued wealth with whatever was left. So far, I am a modest success, but have a very comfortable retirement overall. I expect to continue trading the rest of my life, leaving some open positions behind me. Whether I actually become wealthy or not remains to be seen.
