# CAN I OFFER YOU AN EGG IN THIS TRYING TIME?

Fiat Lucrum is #02 of my Ten Decrees series. It's Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights redrawn for the fiat age. Garden on the left, party in the middle, fire and money printers on the right.
Fiat is Latin for "let it be done." Lucrum is profit, the root of lucrative, and where the term "filthy lucre" came from. Hence, "let there be profit": a gain decreed into existence by those who issue the money, paid for by everyone who holds it.
In the center of the composition there's a glass tank inscribed FRESH LIQUIDITY / BOTTOMLESS with a party inside. Orange liquid leaks out the bottom into the water, flowing toward the creature most well-positioned to reap the benefits; the Cantillon effect.

On the far right of the above shot, a reference to the market events of October 10th 2025: a rabbit $ skull in a suit and tie sells 3X CROSS LEVERAGE across a desk. The sheet in front of him already says -99% LIQUIDATED, and the sign hanging off the desk reads genius, we print, you pay, have a nice day.
The water starts out clean on the left, pouring from a machine in the garden engraved better MONEY. A hooded Satoshi figure takes Bosch's role of god here, presenting woman to man. No ribs required. engraved on her pedestal is text ECCE NOVA, latin for "behold the new". If you look closely at the top left of this shot, you'll see Hal Finney's portrait on a sign next to a cryochamber with the words "running bitcoin" inscribed below his name.

The two airships over the middle of the piece read 3.125 BTC and 1.5625 BTC, which is the block reward right now and the one after the next halving. The entire bitcoin block reward schedule from 50 BTC at genesis to 1.5625 BTC at the next halving in 2028 is hidden throughout the top of the composition. Finding it is the work of the viewer.

On the right (Bosch's hell side), four money printers labeled QE-1, QE-2, QE-3 and QE-∞ emit thick streams of dollars into the air. Three piggy banks lie on the floor next to them with cables jammed in, labeled SAVINGS, PENSION and NEST EGG. A DEBT can is connected to QE-∞.

Above the printers there's a giant cracked head screaming (based on Bosch's hollow man in hell), with a high-stakes poker game inside.

The artwork in all the detail shots above was printed at 30 x 20 inches on Hahnemühle German Etching paper, 18000x12000 at 600 pixels per inch.
