That's the part of the **Risk-on & Risk-off trade** in the markets.
That's also part of 💡 **Factor Rotation** (*factor investing*)
* Value vs. Growth (stocks)
* Momentum ($MTUM) vs the rest of equity factors
**💡 Sector Rotation:**
* Defensive sectors: XLP, XLV and XLU
* Offensive sectors: XLK, XLY, XLF, etc.
* Inflation sector: XLE
A thread of my comments explaining this: [Here \[SuperStonk Comment Link\] ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/1o0izez/comment/nia3tem/?context=3)👀 + Charts!
Also, 💡 **Asset Class Rotation:**
* Equities & Bonds (*I have a Post about this too, "credit spreads", with Charts!*). e,g; The traditional Portfolio of 60/40
* Gold & Oil (*I have a Post about this, with a Chart!*)
* US Dollar ↑ + VIX Index ↑ vs. the rest of the Asset Classes ↓ (*risk-off, e,g; COVID 2020*)
US Dollar and the Business Cycle Economic Indicator like US Manufacturing Index (PMI), in one of my comments: [Here \[SuperStonk Comment Link\] ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/1rssfzx/comment/oa9wjko/?context=3)👀 + Chart!
**As I said before, it depends on the Macro Environment** (*business cycle, monetary policy, etc., etc*), correlation can change between asset classes,

Example: SPY ETF vs TLT ETF (*the 60/40 portfolio*) dont do well with high Inflation (e,g; 2022 year) 🩸
I put an screenshot as example:

It’s no dumber than putting two brands of ketchup on your hot dog. If diversification is your end goal you want Ketchup, Mustard, Relish on your dog. To get great investment diversification all you really need is VT 85% & AVUV 15%. This covers, Large Cap, Mid Cap, Small Caps, International and emerging markets. If you want to tilt after that by all means pepper in some QQQM, XLU or SCHD.
