Not only that, but iirc they didn't even leave him with enough money to get to his destination. He was something like a thousand miles away and they left him with the money in his wallet for fuel. The video of him has a segment where he was actively trying to explain to LEOs that he didn't have a bank account or credit cards, and they were effectively leaving him stranded beyond a certain point if he couldn't arrange for money to be wired to him through WU/similar service

Yeah. I'd like to think it's only a matter of time before there isn't anyone left dumb enough to pay WU when there are so many other options. Even in the most undeveloped nations, they have better options. As much as everyone hates crypto, it's being more and more popular as a payment/transfer method across certain parts of Africa. In developed countries you've got that, and about ten other better options.
