So, semiconductors got absolutely wrecked yesterday. So did almost everything else. But what didn’t go down?
Wednesday night I did some due diligence on things that were trending up with emphasis on sectors that were over represented after filtering for weekly and monthly progress. The banking sector is gaining and will continue to gain if we enter a period of stagflation, where interest rates remain elevated but we don’t have an economic collapse. For this reason I added RSPF (Invesco S&P equal weight financials ETF)
The next obvious thing is oil as a hedge for ongoing war. But rather than betting directly on oil, for stability, I picked up XLE.
XLP and SCHD are the pinnacle of stability due to staples always having revenue and SCHD everyone knows is just stable with high dividend yield.
And, finally, I found that O realty is trending. I’m not sure why the real estate market is trending but it’s on strong momentum. Probably because similar to staples the expenses there are hard to avoid. Any insights on realty are welcome.
Anyway, please share thoughts on this setup for stability during the least stable time and share what you think might work as well.
I bought one share of each yesterday to test the idea so I could see how things would turn out on a percentage basis as the rest of the market collapsed.
