Father on home hospice left sleeping alone in an unlocked house. Doesn't know, but no ability to help himself.
Phone calls ad nauseum across the country. Family politics warming up. I mentally locate my suitcase.
A disturbance erupts in my front yard. A lady is asking non-stop questions to a non-responsive male figure laying on the gravel with wallet, rings, phone, jacket, et.al. strewn about.
Lady still yapping non-stop. I wake the drunk FIFA partier and try to help him sort himself out. Lady still yapping.
I get him up and situated let him know he's safe; lady still yapping.
I ask Yapper to move on, that she's not helping. This deteriorates quickly into a mutual, "Fuck all the way off." She leaves.
Drunk guy drinks water, calls Uber, moves on.
Back to dealing with distant issues. I may lose two family members very soon. I turn to the Anonymous Void because my wife leaves for medical bloodwork.
