I simply do not understand competing for the chance to overpay on something I wasn’t going to buy prior. If I want to gamble with PMs, I’m buying GLD or SLV calls

That is a good question. I can see it is a 100% investment allotment but it doesn't tell me what. I have to check with them to find out.
Really on the BND and GLD? For information, why not?

I checked into my retirement through work, it doesn't appear that I can leverage any stock options due to the kind of retirement it is. I have to check with them on that.
As for my IRA, my plan is to 70/30 split VTI/VXUS, and once it gains some value, maybe 1kish? I plan to switch to 60/30/5/5 VTI/VXUS/BND/GLD respectively.

GLD has a flat 28% capital gains tax associated with it for US filers. I prefer PHYS as it’s classified as a company, not bullion so lower taxes.
You’re getting what you are paying for bc if you aren’t that’s fraud and a company would be held liable. Not the Wild West like crypto.

Selling metals in trade for a housing market that needs a moderate correction is interesting from an investors perspective but I chose a four wheeler over another 10 shares of GLD.

This is what I’m doing. IGLN (Irish-domiciled gold ETF) + GLD (before i discovered IGLN) just as a hedge. Main driver is VWRA, but observing how VALL fairs. Might transition but not quite sure yet
