When comments like this are upvoted people should start to question the information they get from the subreddit. Buying gold isn’t a free guaranteed ride up to $10,000. If you truly believe that it’s inevitable you should leverage your entire net worth into call options on GLD

I'm in a similar boat with GLD leaps. What are you doing moving forward? I'm debating closing out the entire position vs. Closing some of it and letting the rest move forward.
NGL it hurts to see, wondering how to manage the position. In my eyes, nothing that has caused gold to run up has changed that much. There's still QE, global instability (Iran), and rate cuts on the horizon.

So for all soft brains like myself, SLV and GLD were actually pricing that the FED would stop being independent by having a puppet of the government running it.

Corn is more oversold than SLV and GLD.

I got lucky and sold everything Thursday, then bought 2028 leaps on GLD and SLV near the bottom on Friday

It's great too if you are trying to build a GLD position.
I made a lot of money selling puts on GLD last year aggressively and when I was assigned was very pleased to get my cost basis down.

It’s been an eventful few weeks for GLD and SLV (especially Friday). What's your take on precious metals?

If you like defense ETFs, $SHLD is better in my opinion more distributed to more established large market cap stock ($LMT $RTX $GD), $XAR is chasing higher short term gains on more speculative companies, however $SHLD does have an expense ratio of 0.5% compared to $XAR’s 0.35%
You are very sub-sector dependent and chasing gains. If you wanted to actually invest long term consolidate and diversify, your account is very small, 200% on $50 is only a $100 gain I wouldn’t fomo yourself into high flyers and get demolished by a pull back turning you off from investing all together.
Just put everything you have into either $VOO or $VTI start buying $145 worth every week to max out IRA contributions (hopeful this is an IRA account if not do that)
Honestly you could really just stop there, get some $VXUS, $BND, $GLD for asset diversification. But I wouldn’t really worry about investing into these subsector ETF until you have around a $10k at a minimum and only ever like 5% or less of total portfolio

Lots of people. My father-in-law and I were talking back in Dec, and he asked me about Silver, and I told him, only enter if you’re going to sit through a drawdown, because it’s coming.
Tom Lee was on CNBC Thursday saying how the top 2 tickers on WSB were GLD and SLV. This was inevitable.
