Lol now our sub has a DII and a GII(Gareeb Institutional Investor).
But net-net good decision temperament wise. But don't invest in nifty 50. Like the Jefferies note days, these companies represent a bygone era. And till the time index automatically rebalances itself,returns can be muted. Use Nifty Next 50 if you absolutely must use an index.
Otherwise, just go for an active fund. Indian market is too wide and does not have the freedom to factory in things(news/liquidity/corruption etc) so index investing might not always be the best practical choice.
