Why would you full port into one play? Did you think you diversified by having different strikes and DTE ? lmfao

Like the comments said, 162 DTE gives you really solid vega exposure if credit spreads suddenly blow out, but managing that theta decay curve is the whole game here. Instead of using a blind rule of thumb like rolling at exactly 60 days, I actually map out the decay visually. I pull up the options PNL simulator and the IV curve on moomoo for my specific strike. It literally draws out the exact week where theta starts falling off a cliff for that specific expiration cycle. I just set my roll target right before that steep drop happens. It takes the guesswork completely out of your rolling schedule and keeps that insurance cost as low as possible.

Idk what kind of portfolio you have but I'll tell you what I do.
I have 300 shares of GME. I sell covered calls 14 to 21 DTE on a biweekly rotating basis. All this really does is cap your profits, so if the prices goes to $30 for example, I might miss out on $400 of profit if I take a strike price of $26, but I also collect premiums and GME has been pretty range bound lately. If something like that happens and I get assigned, I can always sell cash covered puts at the same strike price if I want to buy them back. I also monitor implied volitility and will sell into an IV spike. This is nice around earnings season.
If you own 100 shares of anything you can sell call options, which is pretty much the lowest risk thing you can do. You can try this with something cheap like Nokia or AMC. It's not gonna make you $1K a month though. What it does do is give you a slow grind up.
You could look into call credit spreads and put credit spreads, but understand how to manage a position like that and use stop losses. Again, it's a slow grind, and you have to understand market direction. Most of the time, put credit spreads are the way to go, but the market is shifting a little bearish right now, so it might be time to try some call credit spreads.
You could also go for 0DTE SPY options if you can recognize a trend day, but for that you'd need access to a VOLD histogram and you'd need to know what you're looking for. SMB capital has a great video about this on YouTube.. The 0DTE trend days have resulted in some of my best trades. I purchase 0DTE options around 30 delta if I see a VOLD ratio above 4. Puts for down volume and calls for up volume.  I buy 2 at a time, and am prepared to lose the entire amount as a risk, but also sell one at 100% gain if the trade works out. I have some stupid good trades with this, including a 2300% gainer back in April of 2025 with Trump's tarrif fuckery.
Good luck to you dude.

I will trade responsibly tomorrow, which means no 0 DTE options. I will instead be focusing on monthly options that expire on 7/17.

I feel like it was rigged. As soon as it hit 4 PM EST iOS TOS crashed. Couldn’t logged in. My session on TOS desktop was still open, so I closed out my order and out of curiosity I logged out. As soon as I logged out and tried to log back in it wouldn’t let me. Many people got screwed who had 0 DTE or even 1 DTE. If I didn’t get to close my position I wouldn’t been down $8K tomorrow. I literally see it based on the current market prices.

Same rationale for me too. Skhy has a lower forward PE than Mu. Share price compared to mu is much more stomachable. I sold a cash secured put with 29 DTE with a strike of $155 with break even at 134 towards the end of today’s trading session.

Trades I took today as an option seller (07/16):
**Assigned Positions**
* **AMSC → $47 Put (opened on 06/17)**. Got assigned early, expiry was on 07/17.
**Closed Positions**
* **ISSC → $20 Call (opened on 06/15)**, premium 0.75 **→** closed at 0.09. Net premium profit = 0.66 (\~88% of premium captured, \~3.30% of capital).
**New Positions**
* **OUST → $42.5 Call expiry 07/24 (1 week DTE), premium 1.10 → 110/4250 = \~2.6%.** Assigned OUST at $42.5.
* **CRWV → $90 Call expiry 08/07 (4 weeks DTE), premium 2.40 → 240/12000 = \~2%.** Assigned CRWV at $120. Sold at a strike of $90 as it is now a resistance zone.
* **DOCN → $145 Call expiry 08/07 (4 weeks DTE), premium 5.90 → 590/16500 = \~3.6%.** Assigned DOCN at $165. Sold at a strike of $145 as it is now a resistance zone.
* **INOD → $60 Put expiry 08/07 (4 weeks DTE), premium 6.30 → 630/6000 = \~10.5%.** I am increasing my position in INOD. Earnings on 07/30 hence premiums are higher. INOD has a history of beating estimates.
* **ISSC → $20 Call expiry 08/21 (6 weeks DTE), premium 1.40 → 140/2000 = \~7%.** Assigned ISSC at $20.
* **AMSC → $47 Call expiry 08/21 (6 weeks DTE), premium 0.85 → 85/4700 = \~1.8%.** Assigned at $47.
**My view on the market**
Massive sell-off in semiconductor and AI names, mostly due to profit booking and valuation concerns. Earnings from ASML and TSMC continue to reinforce strong AI demand. Most stocks in my portfolio are solid Wheel names, so I will start selling covered calls and collecting premium while waiting for sentiment to improve.
I keep sharing my daily trades in my account and the Excel file to my full list of positions is linked in my profile description. Happy to hear thoughts on my positions. What are you guys wheeling or watching right now?

Bought 45 contracts on 7/15 at $1.41
Sold today at $3.54
Total return: +$9,585
Today alone: +$7,605
Expiry is 7/17. Could it have gone higher? Probably
Profit is profit. Theta was breathing down my neck and I wasn’t about to watch this turn into a 0 DTE obituary

Well whoever sold you those contracts is happy now. What are some tickers were you buying options on? And were these all short dated options? Any 3-6 monthes DTE or LEAPS? No shares? You literally could have bought some QQQ or SPY when everything tanked during the pandemic and liberation day and made bank...I see three little spikes and the rest straight down. I don't understand how people can have their entire portfolio in options. This is usually the end result.

Solid price, assuming you got decent premium. I have been selling the 45s for \~30 DTE. The premium is irresistible.
