Sounds like you have a lot of research to do!
The great news is there are many many great choices to invest as a retired person to generate income - I retired at 53 and do this exact type of investing to help fund my retirement
My working life I focused my investing on growing my pile of cash (growth) but now I focus on getting cash to help pay some bills and make retirement more enjoyable
I would start with looking at videos and articles written by Armchair Income - He also retired and invests for income
JEPQ is true - BUT there are even better choices than that!
QQQI is my favorite - Similiar to JEPQ but pays over 14% rather than 11%
One of the keys though is diversification - If tech goes down (which would cause JEPQ and QQQI to go down) you need other things in your portfolio that don’t go down
A few ETF’s and CEF’s that I own that are good starting places for you
TECH - QQQI, BCAT, EGGY
S & P 500 - SPYI, GPIX
Large cap Defensive - OMAH, JEPI
Bonds - PDI, DSL
Govt Bonds - TLTW, JPST
Muni Bonds - NZF
REIT’s - IGR
GOLD - KGLD
Healthcare - BMEZ
Business Development Company - MAIN
Preferreds - PFFA
These all pay monthly and are good places to start - Each pay between 5-25% and 300k could easily generate $2500 to $3000 in monthly income
Best of luck in your retirement!
