Ya I understand meta AI is referring to the consumer facing assistant services but OP clearly misunderstands where meta's ai spend is focused just like he misunderstood what metaverse spend was.
He implied that selling extra capacity was capitulating and that their ai spend was a failure because people aren't using meta's chatbot like they are using chatgpt. So I just clarified for him. Metas ai spend is on targeting. Metaverse spend was on VR/AR r/D, not buildout of a virtual world. Neither were failures.

META is leading in the AR/VR space. None of the other huge companies are investing as much in the space. Massive future potential.

Way greater potential for making money from the army than selling the Oculus headsets. Major pivot in play right now

We don't have AR as our CEO. I think we will make it through just fine.

In the video from Friday, he mentioned AR stuff is not near term. He said specifically they are monitoring that market but allocating all resources to Sec/dev, industrial and auto. I wouldn’t look for anything AR for a while.

I think that there is a concrete chance that an Anduril partnership is announce in the next 14 days.
The next step would be selling Pico projector module and totally open source them for AR/physical AI development
