Have you considered class rank? It’ll probably be easier for your kids to make top 10% (or whatever goal % for college acceptance and scholarships) at the 1340 school than the 1370. Or even a school with the 1200s.
IMO any public school with a median SAT above 1150-1200 will skew to a more studious group of peers, even moreso in the AP level classes.
