I made $1400 on HCAI this afternoon when it gapped up. I also lost $330 on oil futures this morning betting on a reversal that didn't happen. I think you need to examine your instrument of choice. I have 27k capital in my margin account and HCAI had around $20k worth of shares on that trade. Scale that to a $5k account and you would have made $350. Considerably more than $10. perhaps revisit your strategy and decide whether you need to regroup and come up with something else.

There unfortunately isnt really anything here. Yes, that cost to borrow is insane, but that's genuinely the only good metric, and that's not enough. We need greater than 30% short % of float, at least 3 days to cover, and a high short interest.
We've got 2.5% short % of float, 0.04 days to cover, and basically no short interest at all. Yes, the cost to borrow is high, but nobodys borrowing. This is rated on Short Squeeze Stock Finder as a very low possibility of squeeze.
The reason for this setup is because this stock just went through a reverse split. Every 30 shares of HCAI was converted into one share. This temporarily raises the CTB through the roof because the pool of borrowable shares just shrank by 30x. CTB is determined by the scarcity of borrowable shares.
Sorry dude, but the reverse split made it seem like a short squeeze setup due to an astronomical CTB. Not only is the CTB inflated for all the wrong reasons, but you really have to look at more short squeeze metrics before coming to reddit to claim its a great setup.

I have been using the TWS platform of IBKR during almost a year. And after all that time i would like to share with all of you what it's like been a customer of IBKR.
The first moments you see the TWS platform it makes you feel that has a lot of fancy tools and also that it's so modern, cutting Edge, and updated plaform for the nowadays trading.
However, i'm going to immediatelly warn you that IBKR it's not for daytrading or scalping if that's what you're looking for.
A) There are a lot of stocks that are not allowed due to restrictions, almost all of them Chinese stocks, or from whatever Asia's country, but also some stocks from the EUA. Therefore you constantly miss a lot of oportunities for that. Moreover i would dare to say that it is unfair for all these kind of companies because they are at a disadvantage in receiving funding. We the customers should be the ones who decide what stocks to invest!.
B) In the "Stable" versión, the little Mosaic scanners used to filter the stocks that meet you're criteria don't allow you to add some fields like "Float" or the " Relative volume". The float it's such an important field for daytrading, and without it you definitely can't do daytrading. I have been long time complaining about that, they always say that we'll fix it but it's a lie. Someone could say me then, why don't you use another versión like Beta or latest? Because then the advanced charts are not working for me. So i have to decide between the advanced charts or the float in the scanner. And it's not a matter of computer because i have recently bought a cutting Edge laptop. Also lots of times the scanners prompts you to other problems in the entire TWS platform, According to the assistants it's due to some problems with some fields added in the scanners that trigger spoiling the layouts and then you have to start from 0 because slowly everything gets spoilt and nothing Works.
C) The advance chart constantly suffers from lag compared to simple charts. Approximatelly 2 seg. Furthermore due to the last changes you cannot see the advanced charts in 10 sec which is very useful to see micropullbacks in order to make [daytrading.So](http://daytrading.So) now, if you want to do daytrading you'll have to use a simple chart in 10 sec candle but without the easy drawing and painting the advanced chart has. Now the lowest timeframe in the advanced chart Will be 30 sec.
Just to put you and example of how it's been today with IBKR i'm going to say that during morning i couldn't trade HCAI (a stock that has made over 150%) because lots of times the stocks are restricted. And now in postmarket i couldn't trade CUE (a biotech company that has made more that 100%) because they were doing maintenance in the advanced charts and also the indicators put in them were not working. So every day it's a different thing and i'm fed up.
