I'm not sure how you came up with the $12/whole preferred but yes, the yield for the whole preferred (20 shares of GOOGN/M) is fixed at 6.25%.
Buying below the par (1000/20=50) will give you a higher dividend yield and buying above it will give a lower yield. It's similar to a bond.
