I was just about to comment saying you could actually have something that works and all those people are just salty, but lets be real and logical here, if you actually do have an EA that is profitable long term and yields you 4R trades more than 50% of the time, i promise you wouldn’t make a vibecoded website to sell it and would much rather put your own capital in it and let it run on a VPS and never tell anyone about it.. meanwhile you’re selling it and im sorry to break it to you but alpha decay is real my man.. no hate, but this doesnt add up at all lol

If you have an edge then automate the system. Find out the true average R per trade which includes both wins and losses. Find out maximum drawdown if rules are followed completely.
Calculate how much time it would take to double the account. If it takes long then tweak the risk.
When it’s done, build an EA on MT5 and use your personal account.

Unless you think this is some random grifter who walked into the auction that day, you are the baddie here. Jesus HC in a handcart and mother Mary on the handlebars, the gold is nothing compared to the sentimental value to that family, and the EA was correct legally and factually.

First, I don't want to give negative energy. Your EA has no short positions and gold also been extremely bullish in this period you have tested. Always ask yourself "Isn't my EA overfitted to some specific trends or setups?". In tha past few months which gold was bearish you can see your expert had negative return. That should tell you sth! I'm 99% sure this EA will fail in forward test because it has been only following bullish trend in my opinion. Always make sure there is no data leakage from the future and also overfitting. You might have built a system with current data which works perfectly for previous data (because you already used them to build that model and system) but works horribly for the future. Good luck.

unfortunately, this EA just wouldm't work in real markets. The fundimental startegy is poor and your tester enviroment backtests show it in the second slide.
Your sharpe ratio is 2.6 across 150 trades. That's not the worst it could be but if this EA does not have a trailing mechanism, add it and see how much your numbers swing. If they barely change, you likely have a losing system on your hands. I'm assuming your are a beginner according to the "my first profitable EA" so this should be the easiest way to acid test your EA correctly.
Why this works by the way is because it semi-simulates the randomness of live spread and slippage. If your EA is swinging trades over multiple days then this doesn't apply and honestly it's not an EA worth making (because statistically your returns will always be less than the buy and hold strategies you could implement manually). But if you are scalping or swinging a few hours/sessions, then this will help you filter out the trades that would've been slipped by most brokers (either because spread widened a lot or your price was filled poorly).
TLDR: Doesn't matter, the important thing here is that your Largest Profit trade seems to be $26K, your Gross Profit is $511k. So one trade accounts for at least 5% of your total profits, (almost 10% net), amongst 151 trades that likely means about 0.5% of your total trades accounts for more than 10% of your net profit.
Scrape it, try again, eventually something will click

Choosing a trading platform depends on your needs — MT4 and MT5 dominate retail forex with strong EA support, cTrader offers cleaner execution and a modern interface, and TradingView excels at charting and community ideas. Each has tradeoffs in cost, broker compatibility, and feature set. The community wiki compares the major platforms.

I'm currently back testing my EA on MT4, but it hasn't been easy to say the least.
Problems after problems since the beginning, onTimer() not running inside of it, the gmt time not running inside of it, and now I discover that the candle data sample from the broker is incomplete.
Where do you guys back test your bots? Mine runs smoothly on a demo and live account, but I need a big sample without waiting years for it.

Dude does come off as extra negative but I can also personally attest to the fact that backtesting an EA (although much better than manual backtesting) still doesn’t give you the full picture. I wish you the best but I highly recommend testing smaller lot sizes/lower leverage before you jump straight in.

That level of DD, the EA cannot survive real market scenario... WR is not good enough plus I always suggest test on account sizes that are realistic, there will be few retail traders having $100k in a single broker account and will trade with it.

Good luck mentally handling a 44% drawdown. Especially considering most EA will trade worse live than tested on demo. I see margin calls and lost accounts in your future.

Just wanted to share a quick win regarding flat-fee financial planning. My wife and I recently hired a flat-fee advisor who focuses on index investing and tax planning (he is an EA). We were looking for advice-only financial planning on an hourly or project basis. As it turned out, the advisor we liked best also offers portfolio management for a flat fee. Since my better half isn't too interested in investing, this turned out to be a nice side benefit in case something happens to me.
Originally, I was skeptical about paying for outside help. But the experience saved us quite a bit of money. Besides refining our plans for taking withdrawals from taxable accounts and traditional IRAs, he also caught an expensive mistake on this year's tax returns made by our CPA. His planning process also mapped out a clear Roth conversion strategy, explaining to us how we didn't need to be as aggressive as we'd initially thought. He also introduced several new risk-mitigation steps into our planning using both financial planning and specialized tax projection software.
Here are two links that really helped our research:

Based on a recommendation from another longtime member of the Bogleheads community, my wife and I decided earlier this year to try Jon Vance. His firm, Vance Financial Planning, works by the hour, by project and offers complete wealth management (planning and investment management). His flat fees are some of the most affordable we've seen, and his expertise is in tax management. (He's an EA and, separately, we're planning on hiring his tax prep firm to do our taxes early next year for this tax season.) He has already saved us a lot in taxes by catching what would've been an expensive error in our most recent returns and making extremely valuable suggestions on Roth conversions, withdrawal strategies as well as risk mitigation vs. reaching our longer-term financial goals. His financial planning software is excellent, and he also uses accounting software typically used by CPAs. He has been able to provide fairly precise tax projections in a number of different areas. Jon also is an index investor who left a larger financial planning firm in order to create a more personalized, boutique-styled flat fee index investing and planning practice. He has been highly responsive and extremely diligent. We highly recommend him.

Overall if you ask in developing this EA, first it was finalizing strategy, after that implementing capital safety features and risk management strategies, back to back backtesting it on MT5 terminal with different settings, actually I am fine tuning it for more consistent results so that in the longer run backtesting results matches with live trading results, a lot more to see!

Plz. don't go for any paid indicator, EA or signal, you will never going to make money with these. Work on yourself and build bulletproof psychology and learn proper risk management.

I wrote an EA in Mql4, it s working great during demo and live trading, but when I use it in back testing mode, one of its functions is not working correctly.

This ea is supposed to start trading when the New York session opens, but it s starting about 3 hours earlier.

I wrote a complex function that gets the new York open time in GMT, and takes in consideration DST, day of week, month etc, and compares it to Time GMT() while the EA is running and I think this might be where the problem is.

I haven't found any documentation online on which time zone is stored is candle data when back testing and this is what I would like to know because I m starting to think GMT isn't there and it s why the EA is starting earlier than it should.
Thanks in advance.

Honestly its more a macro outlook, knowing what levels it has been ranging in the past few months and shorting the top and buying the bottom has been what I have been going for, but with a bias towards the downside. Has been between 30000 and 29000 for a while with a few tips below, but the last day of trading blew through the support so atm just short and sell when momentum slows or a macro reason for bulls comes back.
But this takes a lot of monitoring, so im trying to develop an automated strategy. Right now im testing opening range breakouts which are a bit meh, results, and liquidity sweeps based off of the london session
The liquidity sweep robot marks the highs and lows of the london session and if those are broken during the NY session it will follow the breakout either way. Backtest showed a positive ROI on both strats, can send you the EA for metatrader 5 if you have access to test yourself.
But I personally like to think the market is irrational most of the time and staying rational and trying market performance to the broader economy is my edge. Reading the news or upcoming news events and just basing the decisions on that for a longer term outlook isn't that hard, its making sure when you are right it pays more than when you are wrong where I see most people fail regardless of strategy ( risk management(

Looking forward to seeing your strategy implemented. Is this strategy something you do in your manual trading or just ideas you have for your EA?

There can be edge, for AAPL CFD I had made a working EA but it didn't pass the mql5 validation regardless of how much I tried, but the lot size and dollar value is really confusing for me in CFDs... but of course some logic work and some don't
