Well, people can downvote all they want — I work in the retirement space, and ADEA is always a concern.
Sure, there are some more niche occupations where they do have mandatory ages that apply (and certain executive level positions have mandatory ages too), but nearly everyone else over 40 years old (yeah, that low) is considered to be in the ADEA protected group.
Your employer isn’t supposed to make any age-based decisions. So they aren’t supposed to ask when you’re planning to retire, how old you are, etc. you can volunteer info if you want, but they can’t ask or act on it.
