\-The entire podium at the recent Berlin Marathon were in Adidas. The 2 fastest official marathons ever run also happened last year in Adidas shoes. Nike has been getting its ass kicked in the elite road running scene for the last 5 years.
\-Trail running has exploded in popularity. Nike had a huge opportunity to sponsor some top athletes and innovate some cool shoes here. Instead they let formerly small companies like Hoka, Altra, Salomon, Mount to Coast, La Sportiva, etc. absolutely eat their lunch while they released 2 or 3 half-assed attempts at a trail shoe every few years and neglected to sponsor anybody even remotely noteworthy.
\-Athleisure has also exploded in popularity. Brands like OnCloud and Hoka seized this crowd and created shoes that were comfortable and functional enough to run or lift weights in but also stylish enough to wear to work, a restaurant, a coffee date, etc. Nike continued to release the same ugly shoes they've always released and took years to adopt features like engineered mesh uppers and ultra thick/wide EVA midsole foams. To this day they still don't have nearly the offerings in this space. Someone is asleep at the wheel.
\-Nobody buys basketball specific shoes anymore. They've become way too specialized and supportive for comfortable streetwear. The average basketball watcher has no need for a pair of LeBrons, and even recreational players might only buy one pair every 5-10 years. Jordans are their own anomaly because they evolved from a basketball shoe to the de-facto streetwear shoe for the common NPC who wants to dress like everyone else. You'll never have that again with another pro basketball player and paying a fuckload of money to keep sponsoring basketball players is a losing strategy.

This account exhibits a few minor traits commonly found in karma farming bots. It is possible that u/Business_Soft2332 is a bot, but it's more likely they are just a human who suffers from severe NPC syndrome.
