Sold my ETH and BTC when this stop hit, was holding both 50/50.
Happy to get whipsawed if 83k is regained on volume.

\- It’s the other way around. The bulk of your funds should stay in a savings account A that only ever receives funds, but never sends. Sending signs a tx that reveals your public key, from which your private key could be derived if ECDSA was to break.
\- Not forever, just until ECDSA is superseded by a PQ mechanism. The assumption that being quantum resistant makes it also resistant to a superintelligent math AI.
\- PQ has been on the Ethereum roadmap for a while. Ethereum will be fine. But yeah, if EDCSA breaks unexpectedly soon to either advances in math or Shor’s algorithm running on quantum computers, then Ethereum will be the least of the financial world’s worries. It’d be like the Y2K bug all over again, except the bug happens for real, and it happens 36 months sooner than expected such that nobody is prepared.
\- SBET and BMNR mirror the ETH price, give or take. If the sentiment toward ETH (and other crypto assets that also rely on ECDSA, which is almost all of them) is negatively affected, then obviously SBET and BMNR will suffer. If Ethereum is among the first to transition to PQ, it could create an upside opportunity.

🌍 Macro
Rising rates and renewed Middle East tensions are putting pressure on risk assets, with Iran increasing attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz and oil prices moving above $101. U.S. Treasury yields reached their highest levels since 2002, while the Fed’s September minutes remained hawkish, with most officials seeing room for another hike this year. U.S. equities pulled back, ending the Nasdaq’s five-day winning streak, while BTC fell from around $85K to $82K before stabilizing near $83K.
⸻
📈 Market Snapshot
• BTC: $83,321.6 (-2.62%)
• ETH: $2,574.25 (-4.57%)
• NASDAQ: 27,538.69 (-0.22%)
• S&P 500: 7,801.77 (-0.22%)
• F&G: 64 (previous: 71)
⸻
🧠 Market Take
BTC remains under short-term pressure after failing to hold the $85K area and dropping to around $82K. The technical rebound stalled near $84.3K, leaving $82K as the key support and $84.3K–$84.5K as the first resistance zone.
Long-term Treasury yields remain the main macro headwind, with both 10Y and 30Y yields reaching their highest levels since 2002. U.S. one-year inflation expectations also climbed to 3.9%, reinforcing concerns that elevated rates could persist and reducing the relative appeal of risk assets.
The Fed’s September minutes were hawkish, with most officials considering another hike appropriate before year-end, although market pricing for an October hike has fallen below 20%. The combination of easing near-term hike expectations and rising inflation and energy risks leaves BTC highly sensitive to upcoming inflation data.
Key levels:
* Resistance: $84.3K–$84.5K / $85K
* Support: $82K
* Trend: Weak / range-bound
Holding $82K would help preserve the current recovery structure, while a break below it could trigger another leg lower.

⚡ Quick Take
BTC is hovering around $83K as rising long-term yields, higher inflation expectations and renewed energy risks keep risk appetite under pressure. **$82K is the key line to hold**, while reclaiming $84.3K–$84.5K would be the first signal that the short-term recovery is regaining momentum.

It doesn't matter where you hold it. If quantum attacks break the encryption on any coin, the coins will drop to 0 value overnight. Everyone's supply will be worth nothing. YOUR personal wallet doesn't need to have been hacked to still be worth nothing, since nobody wants to ever buy your ETH again.
Even holding shares of an ETF or something wouldn't help you, since the demand dropping will make the share prices legitimately drop to 0 as well (and securities insurance doesn't cover that, since it's an actual price drop, not fraud by the brokerage)
sentiment 0.578
If you get into crypto, make sure not to stray away from BTC or ETH. But really, the best bet is to start investing in ETFs. You likely don't need money and starting this early will make you become a millionaire a decade before most people

The target list is a lot looser for FPGA than for trading or research. Teams are tiny and they'll interview anyone from a strong EE or computer engineering dept, so in the UK add Southampton, Edinburgh, Bristol, UCL, Manchester, and in Europe ETH, EPFL, Delft, TUM. What gets you the interview is having built something that actually closes timing on a real board, ideally networking stuff like an Ethernet MAC or a UDP parser in SystemVerilog, plus a hardware internship somewhere like Arm or AMD. Plenty of FPGA hires come in after a couple years in industry too.

this is actually pretty cool, i checked my main wallet and found like 0.02 ETH stuck in a DSProxy from a Maker vault i closed two years ago. had no idea it was sitting there this whole time
token barely worth anything back then but now its like $50, nice little surprise for Tuesday morning

So, if I’m understanding things correctly here, everyone should move all of their ETH to a safe address, and then don’t touch it? Sounds bullish!

For anyone landing here from search: USDT on Tron can't move without TRX in the same wallet. The transfer's energy is paid by burning TRX, about 6–7 TRX to a wallet that already holds USDT and roughly double to one that never has.
Ways out:
1. Withdraw a few TRX from an exchange account to that address (pick the Tron network).
2. Swap a little of a coin you hold elsewhere (USDT on BSC or Ethereum, some ETH or BTC) into TRX, delivered to that address.
3. Use a wallet that offers to pay the fee in USDT, if yours has that option.
Walkthrough with the numbers: https://cambio.one/gas/tron?utm\_source=reddit(disclosure: I work on Cambio, which does option 2)

Remittix has released its new whitepaper, and overall I think it presents a much clearer and more mature vision for the ecosystem. PayFi, Wallet, Markets and Earn working together, with RTX intended to become the native asset connecting them.
However, there is one part I think everyone willing to bet on this project should be watching very carefully. What is the token utility?
According to the tokenomics, RTX has a maximum supply of 1.5 billion tokens, with 50% allocated to the presale. That's a big proportion of the entire supply potentially entering the first moments after launch. This creates an obvious risk around TGE. Presale investors have very different entry prices and bonuses, and some will inevitably want to take profits. Even if Remittix succeeds as a business, significant early selling could put pressure on RTX if there isn't enough new demand to absorb that supply.
This is why I think the upcoming announcement regarding RTX utility could be one of the most important announcements before/around launch. Ideally, RTX shouldn't simply be a token attached to a successful PayFi application. There needs to be a strong economic connection between Remittix usage and RTX demand.
For example, RTX could potentially provide reduced PayFi fees, better exchange rates or other discounts; staking could unlock higher platform tiers or benefits; Markets and Earn could incorporate RTX incentives; platform revenues could finance RTX buybacks; and a buyback-and-burn mechanism could permanently reduce supply over time. This would be great!
Imagine Remittix eventually processes billions of dollars in crypto-to-fiat payments. That's fantastic for Remittix but if users can access everything using USDC, ETH, BTC, etc. without ever needing RTX, then PayFi success doesn't necessarily translate into RTX price appreciation. Conversely, if growing PayFi/Markets/Earn activity creates demand for RTX, the ecosystem could gradually absorb the dilution created by the large presale allocation. This is why I'm not particularly worried about the 1.5B maximum supply itself. What matters is the relationship between supply entering the market and demand being created by the ecosystem.
The new whitepaper says RTX utility will be introduced across PayFi, Markets and Earn as those mechanisms are formally announced. That's the announcement I'll be watching most closely.
The technology can work. PayFi can gain users. Remittix can become a successful platform. But for token holders, if Remittix succeeds, how exactly does RTX capture that success?
What do you all think?

Good point. If ECDSA is cracked then you wouldn't want to withdraw to your public address if it has ever sent a transaction before - if it hadn't then you're fine.
If you had already made a transaction then this would help update the withdrawal address: https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-7804 but it's still only a draft. Right now, you could exit your validator, then set up a new one with a fresh withdrawal address but that's probably overkill.
The signing keys use a different cryptography - BLS...
From chatting with an LLM (so hoping someone else knows) if that's compromised it seems like they couldn't steal your staked ETH because they don't control the withdrawal address but could get you slashed and steal your rewards.

but devs...do come here and share their work? and theyre upvoted for it. Ive seen it. If there are less coming around to a daily thread because it has more and more comments upset about the price of ETH, is the price of ETH not accountable for that? I dont understand what you want to happen besides people no longer mentioning it.

I went through a phase where I was constantly moving USDC around because some Morpho vault or lending market was showing a couple percent more than wherever I already had it.
After gas, bridging and constantly checking utilization it started feeling like a full time job for a pretty small difference. Now I care more about where the yield is coming from, how liquid the exit is and whether I can unwind without doing five transactions.
I still keep BTC and ETH open on Moon when the market gets messy because I want to know if theres a broader move happening before touching anything, but I stopped treating every spike in Defi APY like an opportunity I need to chase.
Boring yield has honestly been much easier to stick with.
