You might want to do VT. There is good reason to worry about the American economy. However, China is way worse off than the US and its economy is going to get even worse before it gets better.
As for risky investments like bitcoin I personally do 5% into FBTC and have a lot of money in tech ETFs like SMH and IGV, as well as some single stocks. My PLTR stock is up 120% due to buying it in the dip in April. But once you divert away from a one fund portfolio it opens up a can of worms and gets you into optimizing the perfect portfolio with the best chance of a high return. This will add a lot of stress that you might not want in your life and could all be for nothing if your investments underperform longterm. So choose VTI or VT if you want to sleep well at night knowing that you’re pretty much guaranteed a fair return or you can go all in on a high risk portfolio that *could* significantly outperform over the long run at the cost of stress and anxiety (unless you have the stomach for it). If you want advice on something like that I can give you tips but I recommend starting with VTI or VT until you get a feel for your risk tolerance.

Do you have an employer match? If so do that first, then Roth until maxed, then brokerage account. When starting late I would go a little aggressive into whatever you think will perform best over the next 20 years (even if you might be wrong). I personally think tech will continue to dominate so I invest heavily into tech funds like FTEC, SMH, and IGV. But because I believe in it I will go even heavier into tech during a multi-year bear market rather than switching allocation which is the worst thing to do at those times. But some people prefer a value tilt or small caps or momentum or bitcoin or single stocks. But I would recommend only going up to 30% aggressive.

Glad I could help. I think it’s a strong portfolio. I think those 4 funds make a strong portfolio. Going with FTEC over IGV + SMH is good due to the lower expense ratio and exposure to other tech industries like hardware, fintech, and wireless. You never know when new technologies might come out in the future that will outperform software and semiconductors. Robotics, for example.
And cutting AVES for IDMO is more reasonable. Although emerging markets value stocks have the cheapest prices right now there’s no telling if it will ever pan out. It was the top performing category during the lost decade but it could turn out to be a waste. Is IDMO having more consistent returns and balancing momentum with small value for international is a good idea.
