I've been reluctant to pile into US equities with the market cap to GDP ratio over 200%, the Shiller P/E at nearly 40, and the dividend yield barely over 1%. Even an 'All World' ETF typically has 60% US equities, so I decided to try to create a diversified portfolio tilting away from the US (but not entirely removing it), and especially incorporating regions that are good value according to their Buffet ratio and Shiller P/E. I used ChatGPT to help me find them - it came up with Hong Kong, China, Germany, Italy, UK - and I've come up with the following portfolio:
They're all available on Invest Engine, and they're all accumulating (except the Hang Seng).
**Equities (60%)**
* CSP1 – iShares Core S&P 500 (Acc) → 8%
* XMwX – Xtrackers MSCI World ex-USA (Acc) → 15%
* EMIM – iShares Core MSCI EM IMI (Acc) → 7%
* SMEA – iShares MSCI Europe (Acc) → 8%
* CUKX – iShares Core FTSE 100 (Acc) → 6%
* FRCH – Franklin FTSE China (Acc) → 8%
* HSTC – HSBC Hang Seng Tech (Dist) → 3%
* XDAX – Xtrackers DAX (Acc) → 3%
* CMB1 – iShares FTSE MIB (Acc) → 2%
**Diversifiers (40%)**
* SGLS – Invesco Physical Gold (Acc) → 6%
* WCOB – WisdomTree Enhanced Commodity (Acc) → 6%
* VGGS – Vanguard Global Govt Bond (Acc, GBP-Hedged) → 18%
* VECA – Vanguard EUR Corporate Bond (Acc) → 10%
This is for my 10-15 year time horizon account, and I'll weight more heavily into equities for my pension. I'll re-evaluate every year to look for good value markets and adjust the portfolio according, and move more into the 'safe' diversifiers as I approach the time I'll need the money.
