I am surprised that ESWW wasn’t up there near the top.
Apparently that is the first penny stock that Chris Dilorio invested in. $100k investment went to $1M+ and then crashed hard.
Standard sort of penny stock/pink sheets shenanigans.
He figured out that Knight Capital was reaping a fortune from penny stocks while investors routinely got screwed by both the market makers and microcap corporate insiders. Chris Dilorio made it his mission in life to go after Knight Capital, and then Virtu after they eventually bought Knight.
Medium has some articles about him, and the book Chain of Title, which was written by David Dayen, chronicling his experience. https://medium.com/@amateuranalysis/who-knew-ubs-and-knight-capital-were-into-penny-stocks-dd089857c24b
