That's part of it, but throughout the month of February there's also been a massive slide in two major components of the GDPNow indicator too. PCE's contribution slid from a peak of 2.8% at the end of January down to 0.87% in the most recent reading and Government spending has unsuprisingly been dropping as well from contributing 0.86% to contributing 0.34%. Pretty much the only thing that's been offsetting that to some degree is CIPI which is partially offsetting some of that net imports decline temporarily.
I think it's hard to look at the trend over the last month and say anything other than that the economy has weakened, especially consumers. I think the only real positive to point to is that it'll hopefully offset some of the inflationary pressure that's been present lately but that's also assuming we don't see some tariffs or trade controls that push prices up down the line which is far from a given at this point
