First time my writing's gotten called AI. I was just trying to be concise...
>It's top ten holdings include Sirius, Garmin, and Iridium. Does that sound like you're investing in spaceflight?
Nope, I noticed that too. I don't think any of these companies have a place in the long term, and seeing 5% in UFO was concerning.
>ROKT has the same problem, lots of companies that aren't really involved in spaceflight, and if you read its prospectus it has a sizeable allocation to companies that are involved in deep sea exploration. Maybe that appeals to you, but that also makes it not really a space ETF either.
Hence why I mentioned the broader exploration tilt / defense sector overlap. Not bad, but you're right that it's not a pure space ETF.
>If you want something that is focused directly on actually putting things into orbit like RKLB and LUNR, then yeah, that means the newer crop. And since that's a very concentrated sector right now, that's going to mean concentration in their holdings.
If it's this concentrated, then I might as well stick with individual stocks. I try to follow the industry as a hobby, so I have a moderate sense for which companies are better positioned. PL, FLY are decent options, MNTS and ASRHF could shoot up etc. Might be better to pick-and-choose and invest responsibly than to go for broader coverage.
>an SPV is basically a private investment pool that is allowed to buy shares of a private company
That's interesting. Safe to assume the stock will be massively inflated on launch, so it sounds like they're expecting a huge increase post-IPO. Short-term? Definitely. Long-term? Harder to say. Again, I could always just invest in it myself.
