Stop valuing your alt portfolio in USD, value it against bitcoin.
How do you do that? Look at charts that take your alt's price and divides it against BTC. Examples: ETH/BTC, SOL/BTC, ADA/BTC, etc... This allows you track which went up faster: your alt coin, or BTC.
Example:
ALTX (made up altcoin) is $1k, BTC 50k for a ATLX/BTC ratio of 0.02. The BTC ETF gets announced, and BTC goes to 100k and ALTX price stays the same, now you're looking at a ALTX ratio of 0.01, where ALTX lost half it's value against BTC, which would show as a downward trend on the ALTX/BTC chart.
If you're in alts, ALWAYS look at your ALT/BTC pairing chart and make sure it has favorable upside, otherwise you might as well be in BTC and carry a lot less risk.
