I get an annual bonus paid in 8 tranches over about 8 weeks (late June through late August). After setting aside my next 12 months of living expenses out of it, I'm left with $164,864 to deploy.
This is how I plan to invest/split
Two fixed buckets I have to fund first
* Kid's school annual payment, due August 2027: $15,000 → parked in a 360-day repo against national sovereign USD bonds, \~4.85% annualized (9.1%)
* Emergency fund top-up to bring it to $37,140 total: $5,000 → HYSA at 3% USD (3%)
The rest, split into 6 buckets:
|Bucket|Amount|%|Where it goes|
|:-|:-|:-|:-|
|Real estate down-payment savings|$41,216|25%|Open-end USD short-duration fund, \~5-6% yield, auto renews every 60 days. |
|IBKR retirement ETFs|$38,988|23.6%|CSPX 60% / CNDX 20% / AGGG 20%|
|Misc / Travel / Car|$28,983|17.6%|30-day repos against national sovereign USD bonds, \~4.5% annualized|
|Fun Money|$24,730|15%|HYSA at 3% USD|
|Kid's long-term savings 9 (1 year Toddler)|$10,947|6.6%|100% VWRA|
ETFs are all UCITS / LSE-listed (CSPX, CNDX, AGGG, VWRA), Ireland-domiciled for tax reasons, I'm not a US person.
Would love your feedback or input on this.
