You can't! It's a data SIM, not a voice SIM. At most, you can call WhatsApp to WhatsApp, but not a landline or mobile number.

The main reason, for $50-$100 people can trade with a \~$2000 draw down. If a new trader is going to blow up multiple accounts, refusing to lower their sizing, and needs to learn the hard way, they lose a few 100 instead of 10,000 or whatever. Eventually they might be able to see returns equivalent to a \~50k personal acct even if its just on a SIM. Some places have live acct options. Every step seems to get a little more sketchy at some firms but overall if the accts are used to practice real trading vs just gambling massive size, its a great way to practice without risking too much.

I'm sorry this happened to you. $168k and four years of savings — that's not an abstract number, that's a real loss. I hope you're doing better.
A few things worth understanding that the other comments are getting wrong:
**2FA doesn't protect against everything.** The most common attack vectors that bypass 2FA:
- **SIM swap:** Attacker calls your carrier, impersonates you, gets your number transferred. Your SMS 2FA now goes to them.
- **Malware/infostealer:** Software on your device that captures TOTP codes the moment you type them, along with session cookies. At that point, the attacker has an authenticated session and can change everything.
- **Phishing with real-time relay:** Fake Binance login page that forwards credentials live to the real site, capturing the 2FA code in the same moment.
**The Taiwan login is a classic indicator** of a session token theft or phishing relay — the attacker was using a VPN exit node or compromised machine there.
**On the appeals process:** Keep documenting everything with timestamps. Binance has recovered funds in some cases where the theft is clearly documented and the funds haven't moved off-chain yet. It's slow and not guaranteed, but it's worth pursuing through their official dispute channel (not customer support chat — the formal dispute/legal process).
**Critical warning:** You will now be targeted by "crypto recovery" scammers who claim they can get your money back for a fee. They cannot. They are scammers who target exactly this situation. Do not pay anyone to "recover" your funds.

For anyone reading who wants to avoid being in that spot, the quiet lesson here is the big one: an exchange account is not a savings vault. Anything you're holding for years and can't afford to lose shouldn't sit on a login that a phishing page or SIM-swap can take over — move long-term holdings to self-custody (a hardware wallet) and keep only what you're actively trading on any platform. On top of that, the essentials that stop most account takeovers: use app-based or hardware-key 2FA and never SMS (SMS gets defeated by SIM swaps); turn on a withdrawal address allowlist with a time-lock on new addresses, so an intruder can't instantly send funds out; set an anti-phishing code to spot fake support emails; and never click login links from emails or type your password or seed phrase into anything that reached you via a link or DM.
