I’m only in individual stocks. But I also have a lot of free time to do research.
Most of my investments are NOT in MAG 7 or tech names.
Up 34% this year, YTD.

See here's the thing. I wasn't annoyed by the GOOG posts because I disagreed with their bull thesis. On the contrary, they were dead on the money.
I was just irritated that basically 75% of posts at that time were all either "is GOOG a buy" or "shut up about GOOG."
Personally, I think discussion of MAG 7 stocks is boring. The same talking points and investment theses repeated and debated ad nauseum. The reason I originally liked this sub was because people were discussing names that didn't get a lot of attention

Identify good long term positions and refocus. Stop chasing quick hits. 2022 was a tough year for example. Early 2022 I rolled over several 401K accounts into a traditional IRA. I was killing it in 2021 so I had this. By summer I had an unrealized loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars. About 1/3 of the IRA. So I took a step back and by the end of 2022 I sold everything and bought into MAG 7 and TQQQ. Started slow then started ramping up. By fall of 2023 I made up the loss. Then I traded around dips to bolster my positions and added more retirement dollars. Today I have tripled my original investment.
When a strategy works you forget about opportunities missed. Cannot fix the past but can plan for the future.
