They disable opening accounts online for existing clients who have some sort of restriction on their account(s).
You probably were able to open the accounts you have now because you were brand new. If that is the case/you’re relatively brand new to schwab, I’m willing to bet that the verification process for accounts opened so far has gone through the second verification process (common for financial institutions/banks) and something was triggered so they put a restriction on your profile…
Thus, no online accounts can be opened only PDF.
If you’re not new new, then something happened recently where restriction(s) was placed on your account(s), so you can’t open new accounts online.
Contacting schwab (24/7 line) directly is the fastest way to get an answer and hopefully resolution. Might just be a CVRS issue.
