None of the quantitative, robust mathematical models, such as ARIMA, GARCH, GBM, Jump Diffusion, Heston, CAPM, Fama-French, APT, Neural Networks, Random Forests, SVMs, HMMs, Order Book Models fundamentally rely on "technical analysis" based on candles and charts in the way a human chartist would interpret them.
To understand, build and optimise those models one needs Calculus (differentiation, integration, ODEs, PDEs), Linear Algebra (vector and matrices, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, matrix decomposition). Probability Theory, Statistics, Stochastic Calculus, Numerical Analysis, Optimization techniques, Discrete Mathematics, ML Mathematics, and so on.
Most people posting in this thread are hoplessly naive in reiquirements to actually have a chance at beating the markets. There's a reason why hedge funds employ strong PhDs with degrees in Computer Science, Mathemtics or Physics.
