I saw some comments on where to buy. When I started, I was ordering everything online. Then I found my LCS, Local Coin Store. I wont buy online anymore. My lcs sells right at spot or under. Right now, silver spot is $60.69 and they are selling at $60.64. A quick check show Money Metals at $65.51. That is like an 8% premium. It might take a year just to get the premium back. Plus, at my lcs, twice I grabbed a loose 1/4 ounce AGE and they asked if I would rather have one in a card and graded for the same price. You wont find that online. Keep that business local.

I dud a trade at 45:1. Into gold. It was nice silver but it also was an AGE. That’s was exciting!

I'm looking for 1oz Silver Coins, Bars and 1/10, 1/4oz Coins. I prefer ASE, Maple, or other Royal mint stuff and AGE or big name mints. I will entertain premium stuff. This money was set aside for the 1907 Saint Gauden UHR, but my 1804 came in marked up and the mint delayed my mercury for 3 months. So I will buy cooler things here!

Trade. As someone who has both bars and coins of this weight, it's possible you could find a trading partner (ideally with someone local, not sure your location). Maybe throw in few 1 oz silver coins or bars to make up for the difference in premium. Otherwise, as others have stated, you end up playing the spread game twice dealing with lcs or retail.
For example, a few years back, I traded a 1 oz Philharmonic (it was a specific year - 1997 I think) to a fellow collector in exchange for a 1 oz AGE, much newer year. Our only individual costs were insured shipping to each other - both of us have a solid rep on the pmsforsale subreddit, so trust was there.

I'd say it would depend on your end game. This is one of those things that verges on bullion investor vs. "collector". But there is a happy medium.
Assuming your "few bars" equals 1 oz and the AGE is 1 oz, you're not gaining anything here, especially if it is going to cost you more to acquire the Eagle, except maybe if you sell the AGE in the future, you will get more for that than your generic Costco bars. Is that worth it in the future, maybe, maybe not.

Otherwise, again, to me it would depend on my end game. I stack as much weight as possible while mostly leaning towards sovereign, government-backed coins. Is that the right thing to do? For me, yes. For others, maybe not.

I have a substantial amount of Maple Leaves because they generally carry lower premiums than Eagles (and other sovereign coins), they are sovereign government-backed coins, and well, they look pretty.

On the other hand, if you want that beauty, I do not think you would be "dumb" for doing that. It is not going to matter much in 10-20 years anyway. So get whatever you want!

I fight with this a lot.
Just two weeks ago I was debating on 2 x 1/4 AGE or 1 x 1/2. I opted for the 1/2 due to premiums on smaller fractionals.
Are those premiums going to matter in 10-20 years? Absolutely not. Is breaking a 1/2 going to be easier than 1/4 or a 1/10 in 10-20 years? Absolutely not. Lol
Lesson learned.

Terminal toner with lots of luster and vibrant metallic tones that I was unable to catch on camera. Transitions from a black rim, to a strong bronze into subtle orange. From there, it goes to a beautiful lustery golden yellow, before it focuses inwards in green and finally, blue. It's like a metallic aura that you find yourself sinking headlong into.
