33m here hoping to intervene in a younger man'a future. Just get your degree. It's one semester, and think of all the time, effort, and MONEY you already invested in your education.
Even people who are profitable can go negative in the future. And $1300 is chump change down the road my friend. You will regret this decision if you drop out.
An engineering degree is lifelong guaranteed income. We're never not going to need engineers. It's one of the most valuable professions you could have chosen, and you're so close.
Think of all the income you'll be able to invest as an engineer.
And if you get into engineering and decide you want to do something else, pairing an engineering degree with an MBA is a one-way ticket to success. Instead of engineering for whichever XYZ big company you wind up working for, you could become a partner or executive.
Just hang in there man. It's not worth wasting all that money and time you invested. Think of it like that since money is what's controlling your thinking right now. You NEED to get that ROI.
If you make it to 33 some day like me and didn't do it and look back at it, you will remember this forever. Just finish man. Cross the finish line. Be a good sport.

I'm on a similar path. Yesterday I sold $200,000 of XYZ (Square) stock. The reason was simple. I got out with a decent profit at a high just before earnings. I was too heavily weighted in XYZ and needed to reduce the risk. I still have 2300 shares so this was nowhere near my entire position sold.

>You also need to keep in mind this isn't a house - like do you have to worry about replacing a roof? Probably not in a condo...?

Eventually the condo’s roof will also need to be replaced. Where I live, the relevant legislation requires every condo to have a formal study done by engineers who evaluate the state of the building and the useful life of the various components. They pull all the data together, figure out the costs associated with the repairs/replacements, apply a future value calculation to determine how many additional dollars XYZ repair will cost in however many years in the future it will be required, add all of that up, and use that information to determine the condo’s common element fees per unit. I can’t speak for all jurisdictions, but it’s likely comparable where you live.
So today, I pay about $450/month in fees. Part of that is for the current operating budget requirements, and part is for the reserve fund (for capital expenditures). Without that reserve fund balance, we would have to have special assessments periodically for needed repairs. Since we are more than adequately funded, that is very unlikely to happen within the next 25 years.
I take a keen interest in how the property is run, and joined the Board as its Treasurer to ensure that the fund remained robust and the costs were kept as low as possible.

This is a variation of a butterfly with a lot of extrinsic in the long atm call offset by selling 2 calls at the expected move. This should be slightly green at the open as long as XYZ stays flat. XYZ was a good one to sell any premium in apparently.

FWIW, without an edge the EV of any options contract is zero.
That aside, CSP and CC literally have the same P&L chart, so how do you think about them so differently?
Like, you would be OK with this:
Have a bunch of cash
Sell Put on XYZ exp 8/14 Strike 100 at 1
Because you are getting paid to do a limit buy order

But you would not be OK with this:
Own 100 shares of XYZ at 100
Sell Call on XYZ exp 8/14 Strike 100 at 1
Because now you are selling based on a particular strike and you don't like to do that.
If you so prefer the CSP, you could just exchange these positions for a few pennies per share and increase your relative happiness with next to no effect on your long term P&L.
If you get assigned, you can just immediately sell the shares and write another CSP and again increase your relative happiness for next to no cost. I mean this does assume you have a good broker that's charging low/no fees for your activity, but the math holds.
You should be looking at P&L charts, rather than going by gut feel about what strategies do what.
Or you could just quit options because anyone with no edge would be better off by doing that.

He'd probably also tell you things like: why did you buy XYZ stock? Thats gambling. Or maybe you only bought how many shares? Thats not enough to make much Id buy more.
Unless he's going to teach you how to research and invest, AND you want to spend your time doing that, learn to ignore it. Its probably going to get worse as he gets older.

Because you can generate fees by doing so. Bitcoin has hash time locked contracts on join market that allow this. Lock Bitcoin up as a join partner for XYZ blocks, set your fees, and then people can join together and pair with you. The HTLC is set once you sign the transaction and join market coinjoins the coins anytime someone wants to "pair" with you.

A financial adviser is about strategy, investing is only 20% of the conversation.
If you have questions like “what should I do with this money or what should I be doing in XYZ situation” then you should go speak to a financial adviser.
However, if the adviser just wants to talk about their investment model they run themselves then move on, the value is in the strategy not solely focusing on the investments. In fact if all they care about is investing your money and aren’t asking questions about your financial concerns or goals going forward then they are crap.
