It's just 10% EDV. Yeah it's looking like crap in the short-to-medium term, however the EDV is there in the portfolio for a specific purpose - deflation. That's something that can kill the stock market for a very long time.
My honest recommendation is that you hold your nose and stick to it. 8 - 10% in gold is a good idea as well.
If you're really not able to, go for an intermediate treasury bond. I like bondbloxx etfs: XSVN and XTEN.
