Since you're transitioning from BPO to VA and your income has changed, I think the first thing I'd prioritize is building a solid financial foundation before going heavy into investments.
Your 60-20-20 framework is a good starting point, but I'd separate the 20% savings into specific goals:
1. Emergency fund – build this first, especially since VA income can be less predictable depending on your setup/client.
2. Short-term goals – travel, WFH upgrades, etc. Keep these separate so you don't have to touch your EF.
3. Long-term investments – MP2 and other investments can come after you've established enough liquidity.
4. Financial protection – since you're now relying on your own income, I'd also check what health/HMO and life/critical illness coverage you already have. Company benefits from your previous BPO job may no longer apply.
I wouldn't rush to open a lot of new accounts either. First assign a clear purpose to each account you already have, then add accounts only when there's a specific benefit.
I'm a licensed Sun Life insurance advisor, so if you'd like, you can PM me. I can help you look at the protection side and see what options may fit your current income and budget. No pressure to get a plan.

WFH setup shouldn’t be under “wants” if its critical infrastructure for your income (ie hardware, internet, etc)

Hi! I transitioned to the VA industry after my first job in BPO, so medyo malaki yung naging jump ng salary. Now, I want to start allocating my funds properly, build my savings, and eventually start investing.
I'm planning to follow the 60-20-20 rule, and here's my current breakdown:
**Needs - 60%**
* Rent
* Bills
* Credit / loans (appliances)
* Groceries
* Pets
* Laundry
* Tax
**Wants - 20%**
* WFH setup
* Dates / gala
* Minor apartment stuff
* Skincare / self care
* Activities / hobbies
**Savings - 20%**
* Emergency fund
* Leisure / travel
* Future / investments
* MP2
I'm open to suggestions if I'm missing something, or if may subcategory that should be moved to a different category.
**My current cards / banks:**
* Traditional: BPI, Unionbank
* Digital: Maribank, GoTyme, Maya
* E-wallet: Gcash
* Credit card: Maya Black
**Questions:**
* How should I allocate each category and subcategory, and which account or card is best to use for each?
* Do I need to open new account/s to maximize the benefits?
* Is there anything I should add, change, or improve?
Thank you so much! 😊🙏🏼

Thanks for the suggestion po.
Yes, I'm also aware of the upcoming El Niño, which is why I'm planning to start planting Napier during the next rainy season and eventually transition into cattle farming once the forage is established.
I actually love programming po. It's not really the programming itself that's burning me out. It's my current managerial position—the constant meetings, endless planning, and unrealistic deadlines. Even with proper time management, I'm still struggling every day, kahit WFH pa ako.
I'm also planning to look for another job, but with the current job market, ang hirap talaga. I've already sent out 200+ resumes and haven't received a single response yet.
At this point, I'm honestly willing to trade my six-figure salary for better peace of mind and sanity. I know it sounds like a big sacrifice, but I'm starting to value my time, health, and quality of life more than simply earning a high salary.
Also hopefully I can also produce another side business while building my farm.

Hello everyone - Need some suggestion
Current situation:-
HDFC PL - 33k emi (14.5L remaining)
Axis bank CC loan - 15K emi (4.5L remaining)
Kredit bee koan - 19K emi (6.5 remaining)
HDFC cc loan - 3.5k (45k remaining) and 3.5k (1.3L remaining)
Salary - 1.25L
EMIs :- 74K
Family - 21k
Remaining :- 30k
Since its WFH now so other bills.
Current approach- Planning to take top up of 25L loan (same from HDFC) to foreclosure all loan of 14.5L, 4.5L and 6.5L
Or new EMIs would be 50K only
I will arrange some money by my own to close HDFc cc loan of 45K and 1.3L also
Now from Nov starting it would be
Salary 1.25L
Emi 50k for 6 years
Remaining 75k
Saving after family bills of 25k - 50k
Suggest me how can i have a new life with this.
Note - Debt is of wedding and trading
Fresh starting
How should i go ahead
Should be foreclosure both Axis and Kredit bee or shold i invest 10L something and pay all loans with my salary
