Cable TV isn’t $8.99 a month

Big fan of the internship movie with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.
But still my entire life is basically tied to my Gmail account.
Pictures of my kids and my wedding on my Google drive. I use YouTube music and have premium. When College Football starts up I prefer YouTube TV for my live streaming. I have a pixel for my phone.
When I realized I directly give Google about $100/month for their products it was pretty obvious.

Netflix is introducing multi factor authentication (Face ID, etc) tied to individual profiles beginning July 7. They will eliminate the loophole of traveling and SMS codes that has kept password sharing going.
Before the first round of password sharing restrictions a few years ago, Netflix had estimated 100 households sharing passwords. If even 10%-30% of those continue to do that today, that’ll mean millions of new additions to its existing 325 million subscribers.
This update was picked up by users and the media after Netflix began putting up pop ups asking people to enter an email to their individual profiles.
The stock is down and it seems management is working on multiple growth avenues. If this works, then Q3 guidance should easily top estimates.
One additional update that’s gone under the radar: Netflix signed up France’s market leading TF1 channels on to its app. It has got 20-something viewers and TF1 has deep local content. It’s a win-win for both sides. Brings in new content and revenue sharing on Netflix at minimal cost I.e. high margin.
This is a test case. With cord cutting as a global trend, TV channels have every incentive to sign up with Netflix to gain a new avenue of distribution. It gets them new viewers and gets Netflix more content and revenue sharing.
Considering what cable providers and YouTube TV charge, Netflix has a lot of room to run with this strategy.

Ich erkenne mich wieder, daher schildere ich dir ungefragt mal meine Erfahrungen.
Ich war viele Jahre über viele ferne Länder günstig unterwegs bis ich eines Tages die Email bekam, die viele furchen "Es werde nur das Account-Land-Zahlungsmittel akzeptiert...". So sehr ich YT und YT Music genossen habe, war nicht bereit 18 EUR zu blechen. Also habe ich mich mit den "kostenlosen" Alternativen auseinander gesetzt.
* Comuter ist klar und einfach.
* Brave Browser oder Firefox mit uBlock Origin
* TV (hab einen sehr alten und Fire TV macht es smart)
* Fire TV Stick mit SmartTube
* Nach ner Zeit (vll ein halbes Jahr) hat es angefangen nicht mehr reibungslos zu funktionieren. Random "Video konnte nicht abgespielt werden, Fehlercode XXX"
* Man musste sich fast jede Stunde neu einloggen, Cache löschen usw. Hat echt frustriert
* Nach dem letzten Update ist seit Monaten wieder Ruhe
* SmartTube an sich finde ich sehr viel besser als orig. YT App
* Smartphone (Android)

* Nach ReVance Rumgehacke schien es irgendwie halbwegs funktioniert zu haben
* Ich meine mich zu erinnern, dass man immer hinterher sein musste, weil irgendwas plötzlich nicht mehr ging und man die YT App in der passenden Version wieder runterladen, patchen und neu installieren musste. So ein Handtirerei.

* ReVance hat kaum bis gar nicht funktioniert
* Andere Apps auch nur für 1-5 Songs, dann gingen die Probleme wieder los. Irgendwie wurde der Stream blockiert.
* Der größte Deal Breaker für mich, war **die niedrige Qalität**, die niergendwo erwähnt wurde. Hab mich dumm und dämlich gewundert, warum die Songs so grotten schlecht klingen und in einem Bug Report hieß es "Joah, also gute Quali Stream wird nur an Premium User ausgeliefert."
* Vll. hat sich da mittlerweile was getan. Ich hab dieses Katz-und-Maus-Spiel direkt aufgegeben.
* Ich hab's aufgegeben.

Also zusammenfassend war es entweder nicht "so easy" wie hier auf Reddit immer schreien, ständiges Himterherrennen mit Updates und Patchen oder ist so eine zusammen gefrickelte Lösung, dass es einem übel wird.

Just take politically unstable world. This one is easy. We are absolutely living in the most peaceful time humanity ever lived in if you adjust for population. No question. Basic fact.

Der Schichtarbeiter wird doch bei der Linken als auch bei der SPD entlastet. Ist doch irreführend, etwas anderes zu behaupten.

Need Feedback on TV Script Strategy

Wichtige Anmerkung: Die neuen Fire TV Sticks haben mit Vega OS ein neues Betriebssystem mit geschlossen Appstore und ohne Sideloading bekommen. Da kann man Smarttube vergessen.

Ich schalte jedes Mal meine Steckerleiste, an der TV, Konsole, pc etc hängen aus, wenn ich ein Paar Stunden weg bin, oder über Nacht...und das schon seit ca 15 Jahren, einfach aus Gewohnheit. Jedoch keine Ahnung wieviel Ersparnis das letztendlich gebracht hat.

For all mankind and star city is also really great. I am not too picky but I have liked pretty much everything on Apple TV. Off the top of my head I can’t think of any duds but their catalog isn’t super deep at the moment.

I have basically the same method: I run pine script in TV → webhook → python script which calculates size, stop loss, target → fire off order to broker.
My next step is to deploy to more markets and then develop more strategies. One thing holding me back is the Python needs an overhaul to cater for more markets as it was basically hard coded for one.

Apple can just buy streaming rights to programs they want from Disney. No need to buy the whole company to add more content on Apple TV+.

Man I tell this to everybody who will listen. You can tell they’re pumping a ton of money into their TV lineup because they’ve got a lot of good series.
