You’ll be a king in NYC as someone in their mid 30s while successful. I’m a promoter and I work with high-end clients who need help finding someone and I can tell you that you’ll do fine in the city. Definitely need to put yourself out there tho

He didn’t say he’s going to get rid of them. The guy just believes NYC needs to do a better job making sure the working people get more help. Lots of people make money in nyc and everyone who works there - rich or poor - has to work hard. But it’s clear we need to do a better job making sure everyone gets a taste of the rewards. We are juicing the working man too hard.

Ironically this guy is going to economically end up being more what MAGA poor and middle class thought they were voting for with orange guy. Glad NYC has some balls to go for him.

Most people in NYC do not invest in real estate in NYC. All of my NYC investors buy in the Midwest, where $1M can buy you a $3M 40-unit apartment complex.

Their job is to make money by buying low and selling high. If a given shop does not have huge volume and/or competition, they will increase that spread until the point they are making so much profits that new market entrants drive down those margins.
Note that given the ridiculous costs of running a business in NYC you may not see many entrants. The baseline spread in NYC is problem much larger than in most states.
Bottom line sell to the Asian or Middle East population in NYC who operate either few employees outside of family and without large overhead.

My earliest political memory is Ross Perot ranting about how the deficit is too high and we need to balance the budget.  I also remember the picture of the NYC debt clock in my elementary school social studies text book.  So thus, my whole life, ppl have been saying the sky is falling with the deficit, and I've known nothing but economic prosperity essentially my whole life.  Why the fuck would I finally start giving a shit now? 

So I was researching ETFs that actually make money (y'know, instead of lighting it on fire like ARKK), and I found this new one MPLY the Monopoly ETF. It invests in companies with pricing power, high margins, and zero chill when it comes to dominating their markets.
Basically: Amazon, Apple, Nvidia, Visa the capitalist Death Stars of the economy. Beautiful.
Then I stumbled across NYC's own Trotsky cosplayer Zohran Mamdani, railing against "corporate monopolies." Hew wants to break them up. Regulate them. Tax them to death. But here's the kicker - these are the exact companies that MPLY loads up on.
So I did the only rational thing: if Mamdani hates monopolies... And MPLY is a basket of monopolies... Then MPLY goes BRRR every time he cries on Twitter.
The thing is basically a capitalist middle finger in ETF form.
If you've ever used an iPhone, bought something on Amazon, or paid rent to BlackRock and lived to tell the tale - congrats, you're already subsidizing these companies. Might as well own the f\*\*\*ing stocks too.

You. nailed it. People post salary numbers with no context. People will post things like "I make a huge number pretax call it " X!" And that's all the info they provide.
What they leave out is that they live in NYC, work 80 hour weeks, take call every 3 seconds, and and drowning in consumer and student debt.

There are better opportunities to park your money than a company that has lost 50% of its value YTD and is currently being investigated by the feds for Medicare fraud.. and the CEO was shot in broad daylight in NYC who managed the company during those fraudulent times.
