I’m not sure if it’s a bad deal, NIO still holds 70% and Geely will now be incentivized to build for it giving them more usage and revenue on an existing revenue stream, it’s expanding the market for swap stations. This I could see potentially enabling swap stations in locations that Geely sells in as well.

Yeah that announcement is not and never was going to help NIO. BAAS is being given away for nothing. There is no force multiplying factor for integrating Yiyi into Nio as they are completely separate systems that don't benefit from one another being under the same roof.

It is a painful lesson but I learned it never to invest in China. NIO should just sell cars, ONVO is not selling well that’s the problem.

Horrendous news. It’s clear NIO isn’t buying back as they’ve stated in order to liquidate the company.

As a NIO investor, I feel that it’s a high risk for them to enter the US now due to the political risks. Policies can change every few years…. Unless they do some form of JV with a US company.

I agree, but I don't think any Geely swappable car compatible with NIOs battery Swap stations still exists or annouced yet. Hopefully in a few years Geely cars will swap battery at NIO Stations.

Yup. We just sold 30% of our power business. No cars swapping at our stations and we don’t do commercial. What really pisses me off is NIO trying to sell this as a positive. I mean it’s a losing enterprise now so I guess fk it.

It doesn’t help immediately. But here’s how it can potentially help the stock price.
1. We are seeing real money being put into a real valuation for NIO power of 16B RMB. Massive cash injection from Geely means NIO has much more leeway to expand without relying on the financial market.
2. Geely’s stake in mostly in the commercial
Geely is the no. 1 seller for commercial fleet in China
Their vehicle division, Farizon Auto, sells 160k commercial vehicle annually. .
Now, just input that number into the calculation for NIO power utilisation. Note that commercial vehicles have an even higher utilisation rate for battery swap as they are used heavily in their day to day operations.

Geely partnership values NIO's battery swap network as more than 2 Billion USD. This news alone should increase the market cap of NIO by 20% tomorrow, as it is not even factored in the current share price level. Blue sky coming.

Next announcement will be whenever Geely buying NIO M97 Chip. Coming soon in my opinion, we are also green in HKG market, over 3% to $3.70.

News flash a subsidiary of Geely just invested 640 million RMB buying a 30% stake in NIO power. So once again we are selling off our business. Dispute that fact.

Let the NIO in it would only compete with BMW and Mercedes SUV, let the Germans worry about it, they let them in Germany ES8, 9 would be perfect here
