I never reached a payout either, after the last year on TopStep's eval and then moving on to funded, I didn't realize they had a scaling plan which inhibited my trading style (I trade multiple markets- MBT is not the same as NQ but TopSteps counts 1 Microbitcoin future as 1 mini contract instead of micro so on the funded it limits to 2 MBT's per trade- fucking silly).

Tradefiy's lightning funded allows you to outright buy a funded but it does have stricter consistency rules which is find cause it allowed me to adjust my risk to account for losing streaks. They don't do MBT but are more lenient on the scaling plan. The lightning doesn't have a scaling plan but funded level does (6 mini contracts- which is perfect for currency futures). I've been with them two months and overall up 8R since starting August 03 which is not bad considering current market conditions. Once regime changes I expect higher R frequency until it chops around again.

Most of them are silly with their arbitrary rules and scaling plans. Like my last eval I passed after being on it almost a year to fine tune my strategy but because of TopStep's scaling plan on funded (no scaling plan on eval) I wasn't able to take on the risk I wanted. Like for example they treat an MBT contract or a 6E contract the same as an NQ contract but they are not the same, not by a long shot. If I wanted to risk $300 on MES that's easily doable, but if I see a clearer setup on 6B, with the scaling plan I will only be able to risk 2 contracts resulting in a lower risk like $100 instead of $300. So as a momentum trader, and a WR of 21-22%, I rely heavily on huge wins of 5Rmin but with that I will face a large string of losses but each trade has to have the same risk. Even on days where volatility dies, once price reaches 4R but doesn't hit 5R, I can still close with 2R or even 3R which is something at least, again risk size matters. I lost $200 yesterday on a single trade, I won $400 today but I was hoping for $1000 but at most price went to $800 before turning around, because of the risk, I was able delete yesterday's loss and put an R in my back pocket.

Depending on which firm the funded accounts have stricter rules. Which ones have you been using?

I love Fed Days but I have a rule of not entering after 1p and only trade specific price action in specific markets. MBT,MES,MYM,MNQ are a nogo on Fed days. My MCL short killed it today though.
