If you have already maxed your 401K contribution consider building up cash, a high-yield savings account pays 5%. Build up six months of expenses before you start stock investing. Your JPMB fund is already diversified.

Hi everyone, I am finally in a position where I can put $100 every two weeks into an index fund, but I am not quite sure how to pick or narrow down which index funds I should be looking at, or if I should be investing in a specific stock or sets of stocks… I am a total newbie at this, so please bear with my basic questions.
I am primarily looking for something with decent dividends and a projected growth rate of 5% or more.
I currently only have a 401k with my employer and it’s in the JPMB smartretirement passive blend 2050 fund.
